John Wick's second installment is more about building the world. The plot structure is not as interesting as the first one, and the plot of going to Rome to assassinate the matriarch is also abrupt, narrating for the sake of narrative. It may be that there is no good solution for the needs of the content of the work. But on the other hand, the director's energy is also put on the sculpting of the picture. In the later films, Japanese, Hong Kong, and cyberpunk elements have clearly begun to appear. Looking forward to the third installment in this regard.
Regarding the protagonist's dog, I really don't understand the role of this new dog brought out from the first part. Use bullfights (is this just bullfights or bits?) to show that the fighting spirit in the protagonist is rekindled? A little too straight to boring. And the role of this dog is a little too small. In the second part, the dog hardly bears the intention of those close-ups given to it at the end of the first part. Has the third part just started, then the second part is too much to wrap up the plot.
Other things that are still not explained in the second part, such as who the protagonist's girlfriend is and how she died, the camera shows the protagonist nodding to the doctor, and then the doctor unplugs the instrument. What was the impossible mission that the protagonist accomplished back then? And the remaining families that have not yet been explained are obviously impossible to explain clearly in the third part. The John Wick series intersperses a world of fantasy through a lot of white space and stitching. That's what fascinates me the most about him.
So when will the drama Continental Hotel be released?
