I admire Joe's ability to choose to continue to survive under very difficult conditions, and to raise a child. She used fairy tales to weave a spiritual world for the child, so that the child grew up relatively happily in the first four years without feeling uncomfortable because of the cramped environment. Joe's courage and attitude to face the difficulties of life is very worthy of my learning.
"Room" has a very strong metaphor. For Jack, the room he faced as a child was his whole world, and when he moved into his grandmother's house, he would ask his mother, this is our new " room"? Joe told him this was our "home". In fact, apart from the area, there is not much difference between "room" and "home". The most important thing is that we bravely face the environment in which we live, accept it, transform it, and live happily with our family.
At the end Jack and Joe returned to the room where they were imprisoned. This room has changed beyond recognition. Before leaving, Joe reluctantly said bye to the wardrobe, chair, and toilet. He reminded his mother to say bye too, but her mother struggled for a long time before she squeezed out Bye's mouth and didn't say anything. This is a relatively real detail. Generally, a child will not understand such an environment. He will feel that this environment is taken for granted, because his life starts from this, and he has no other reference; and Joe will Comparing her happy environment in the first half of her life with the environment here, it was very bleak and sad here, so it was difficult for her to accept such an environment, let go of her grudges, and say "bye" sincerely.
