All I dream of is true love and freedom

This movie reminds me of another movie - "Old Boy", which is also about escape from illegal captivity. The two films both tell stories about love and freedom in the same way. Movies are often a utopia where we can exile at will, and I put myself in such a role while watching this movie and thought, what if it were me? What will I be like? Can I hold out until I am rescued? Supporting the escape of the hero of "Old Boy" is a revenge caused by love, and this movie is also out of love for his son. People are easily paralyzed. Just like the heroine, after trying to escape and failing, it is very likely that She gave up and lived as a corpse, but her innocent son always reminded her that life could not go on like this, so she had little space to live, but she would not give up exercising with her son. She looked haggard, but she would try to give her son vitamins as much as possible. Seeing the big from the small is not the same for us. Growing up at home, our parents encouraged us to travel far away. Our growth also inspired our parents to work hard. Regardless of national borders and races, parents have the same heart for their children after all. When we were young, we thought that the world was crazy and fairy tales were beautiful. We believed in Superman, Santa Claus, Spiderman, and all kinds of superheroes. Those who love us block the complexities of the adult world for us. For example, in "Life is Beautiful", the father and son live in a concentration camp. The son is still full of fantasies about the world. The good childhood is also sheltered by the strong love of the father. Love is too powerful to be imagined. This world is as beautiful as it is ugly. Under the dark night, there are often undercurrents, and many sins are dormant in the night. "Lovely Bones", "Neighbors" and so on, we can't know whether the person who greets us with a smile every day has a rotten heart, we can only pray that I and the one I love can enjoy love and freedom forever. Basically, what I've always dreamed of was true love and freedom.

    1. The confined space in the first hour is full of tension, and the warm chicken soup in the back shows a slight drop in price. 2. The superb performance of the little boy and the actress-level performance of Brie Larson. 3. A model of the use of subjective lenses. 4. Isn't the room very small? No, no matter which direction you go in the room, there is no end. 5. Using hair cutting as a metaphor to refer to psychological growth, sending the "power" in the hair to mother is very touching. 6. Leaving the room into the world, such as growing up and parting in childhood. (8.3/10)

The People of Toronto Tears Award. Room is a prison. The mother and the son have been escaping. The first half is physical escape, and the second half is psychological escape. The gimmick and eyeballs in the first half are wonderful enough, and the mother and son cry incomparably when they hug the outside world for the first time. But afterwards, the handling of the psychological change was a bit soft, and I felt that I had restrained the sensationalism, but trying to describe the subtle psychological change from the perspective of a child seemed too difficult to handle well.

Room quotes

  • Jack: [thinking to himself] One, two, three... There's room, then outer space, with all the TV planets, then heaven. Plant is real, but not trees. Spiders are real, and one time the mosquito that was sucking my blood. But squirrels and dogs are just TV, except lucky. He's my dog who might come some day. Monsters are too big to be real, and the sea. TV persons are flat and made of colors. But me and you are real.

  • Old Nick: What's that smell?

Ma: Sorry, I burned some cheese. Here. I just wasn't thinking.

Old Nick: Well, thinking is not your strong suit.
