The US version of the Mekong, and what's different from China

Maybe not for most people, but it is mine.

Simply put, it is the American version of Operation Mekong. But the resistance to America's anti-drug operation is not external, but internal.

The film begins with the frontier murder and corpse case, allowing the audience to naturally enter the film from the perspective of kate. Kate is the kidnapping leader but doesn't know much about drug operations, but she thinks she knows and will do justice - just like the audience.

But kate is not the protagonist of the movie, probably only a bystander. She was involved in the anti-drug operation, but only in it. The entire operation, from overall plan design to tactical implementation, as well as compliance operations, is thorough and neat.

At the beginning of going to Mexico to take the hostages, the tactical arrangement at the beginning was relaxed but not relaxed. In terms of practical operation, in addition to the team's stability as a dog, cooperation with the Mexican police, battlefield environment investigation, and communication have all been demonstrated one by one. Taking the initiative to get out of the car on the return trip is a surprising victory. When the rabble bubbling up, not a single bullet was wasted, and it was done in one go. And the only one who is holding back a little is kate.

The entire tunnel battle, the public security, armed police and even the army can learn and observe. The investigation work before the tactical operation is meticulous, including torture of hostages, cross-checking of cross-border personnel, cleaning up of traitors, and high-tech drone photoelectric/infrared investigation. The details of the film are very rich. Before entering the tunnel, the tactical preparation is very sufficient, not only night vision, but also the proficiency of night operations, almost as stealthy as during the day. Kate was obviously unfamiliar, and after meeting the night vision device, he took it off directly. The operation of the entire tunnel, as the footage expresses: almost no resistance was encountered. Therefore, there is no frontal combat picture, only the orderly sound of gunfire.

The combat action out of the tunnel is even more exciting. Although it was mentioned in the formulation of the battle plan that because the police and bandits are a family, the police are all treated as drug dealers. But out of the pit, killing the drug dealer and leaving the police a dog is obviously prepared to go. In addition, shooting Kate's bulletproof vest twice with a pistol is really amazing. There is also a sniper in the back. The first shot killed the policeman and made him fall, and the second shot passed through the police station and hit the leader in the leg, which was hard enough and accurate. (However, I have a doubt that the legs are not easy to use, and the brakes and clutches are not easy to use. Forget it, just treat it as an automatic transmission.) Get off the car early and snipe in the shadows behind (actually, a pistol with a silencer is used) ) unexpected and reasonable. I always thought it was waiting for them to get close and start killing people. Another detail is to cut the driver leader's throat and bleed, so that he can only hold down the wound and try to save himself. In the end, the big boss's wish was fulfilled: don't let his children see his death, so letting him see his children's death is a little bit of black humor. (Thinking about it secretly, I feel that if I switch to a Chinese director, I will probably follow the rules.)

In the end, echoing the beginning, kate signed the action, but in fact, except for the result, everything was different from what kate thought. I thought the male protagonist would yell at him, but he didn't. He just put a gun on Kate's head and wiped her tears.

In contrast, there are indeed differences between China and the United States. Because 20% (so many?) addicts in the United States are waiting to feed, the optimal result of anti-drug operations is to control the entire drug industry chain, or to manage the Mexican drug cartels. In contrast, China has zero tolerance for drugs, so the anti-drug police are done. In addition, without drugs, China, a society with a large forest, can indeed reduce a lot of broken things, which can indeed be regarded as the superiority of socialism. Personally, I support the anti-drug cause regardless of China and the United States. But this thing is faster than tobacco, and capital never sleeps.

Talk about a Mexican family. The director took a lot of thought to tell the story of this family - an ordinary Mexican police family. An ordinary policeman with an ordinary family. If you can take ordinary classes, will you collude with drug dealers? But Mexico is a place where drug dealers are bigger than the government. This policeman, accidentally, became the victim of the US-Mexico drug control. It's hard to say whether a police officer in a police car loaded with drugs can issue a pension or something. Also, what is the future of Mexican youth? Cross the border to the United States, work in a drug factory, live in the slums, or play football? The rich have it, and the wealthy area has it, but it has nothing to do with most people.

At the end, the male protagonist said to kate, it is better to return to the small town to live, because for most people, the United States is to Mexico, just like the difference between heaven and hell. Whether it is the corpses on the streets or the ruthless and decisive anti-drug operation, only the law of the jungle can work in Mexico.

Besides, the scenery in the film is also worth tasting. Looking down from a high altitude, the barbaric atmosphere revealed by the desert texture constitutes the natural background of the film. On the wall of the combat meeting, there are close-up photos of cacti.

The black slaughter of Borderlands. 1. Annual surprise! Villeneuve creates an icy, depressing, and gloomy atmosphere to the extreme. 2. Deakins' photography (aerial photography, desert scenery, sunset silhouette) and Johnson's soundtrack are excellent. 3. The road transportation of prisoners, tunnel battles (editing of night vision goggles and thermal imaging cameras) and night rushing into villas are exciting. 4. Impeccable performances by the three leading actors. 5. The play is slightly weaker but innovative and subversive. Emily is equivalent to the audience's perspective. (9.0/10)

The shot is great! Practicing the concept of Hitchcock's "suspense", every atmosphere is first-class, slow and tasteful. The vision is also great, and there is also white space. It’s so comfortable to see such a cinematic genre

Sicario quotes

  • Phil Coopers: [assuring Kate] Advisors like Matt come in, they stir the pot, they cause the criminals to react and make mistakes. That's how we build cases against the individuals that actually make a difference in this fight. It's when they're nervous, when they stop trusting their crews, when they move their money. These are all opportunities to strike. And that's the purpose of people like Matt.

Dave Jennings: Kate, this isn't something that I dreamed up myself. I don't have the authority to hire advisors, or authorize joint agency missions, or fly agents from Air Force bases. Are you understanding me? These decisions are made far from here, by officials elected to office, not appointed to them. So, if your fear is operating out of bounds, I am telling you, you are not. The boundary's been moved.

  • Reggie Wayne: [sitting in a bar] Look at you. Your eyebrows are a mess.

Kate Macer: [hiding her face] No, they're not!

Reggie Wayne: They're like caterpillars, like wild beasts. You're losing weight.

    Kate Macer: I'm eating.

Reggie Wayne: Look at you. What is it, one T-shirt a week? At least work on your personal hygiene, huh?

Kate Macer: You sound like my mother.

Reggie Wayne: Maybe I *am* your mother. First we work on personal hygiene, then we move on to the shopping.
