no right or wrong war

The Vietnam War is an eternal pain in the hearts of Americans.

Americans lined up a lot of films about the Vietnam War, but it seems that there are not many about the Korean War.

When I was looking at the land, I suddenly remembered the general hatred and disgust that the Chinese people have towards the Japanese, and I just thought that the people of these countries that were once ravaged by the United States should also have a long-term and indelible hatred for the United States.

War can best reflect human nature, because all contradictions erupt in such a violent form, and there is no time to experience and recollect. Some people are bloodthirsty, some people are sympathetic, this is not the nature of that nation, but the nature of human beings. Regardless of race, region, rich or poor, human nature remains the same.

We are not fighting with the enemies, but ourselves.

Sometimes we have to make enemies in our lives to initiate confrontation with others. It's just because we can't face ourselves truly-the real enemy comes from the ugliness inside us. Taylor, Elias, and Barnes had three important rivalries. For the first time, Barnes attacked Elias who was smiling; the second time, Barnes saw Taylor; the next morning Taylor shoots Barnes

"We did not fight the enemy, we fought ourselves, and the enemy was in us" is the best summary of all wars with the US imperialists. At that time, Charlie Sheen did have a proud capital, Willem Dafoe was his life mentor, the actor Whittaker was still a cannon fodder, and Depp was only a little translator of a few sentences and he saved his life. Stone's failure to make works comparable to the past is only because his life has been experienced by himself.

Platoon quotes

  • [During the interrogation of a village chief after the platoon finds hidden weapons]

Pvt. Gator Lerner: Says they had no choice. Says the NVA killed the old honcho when he said no. Now he says all the rice is theirs.

    Sgt. Barnes: Oh, bullshit, Lerner.

  • [Manny has been killed and the platoon is looking for revenge]

Chris Taylor: The village, which had stood for maybe 1,000 years, didn't know we were coming that day. If they had, they would have run. Barnes was at the eye of our rage. And through him, our Captain Ahab. He would set things right again. That day, we loved him.
