My first exposure to war movies as a child was Saving Private Ryan. But every time I watch it, I never have the patience to watch the whole movie. Every time I watch the episode of landing at omaha beach, I don't want to watch it.

When I grew up, I especially liked history, especially the history of war. Every time I watch a movie about war, I always put myself in the plot and imagine what kind of role I would be in the war: a warrior who fought hard, or a coward who shivered when he walked? A wise officer, or an obedient soldier? After watching Band of Brothers, I didn't have to think about it at all. Because, all kinds of people can be captured from the show.

History is always written by the victors, so there are many distortions in it. But this drama should have a high degree of historical restoration in all aspects. Not to mention the acting skills of the actors, the interviews with the veterans before each episode are enough to greatly enhance the authenticity of the show. Whenever the veteran choked, he would also be saddened. This is the quality of a good film: grasping both the event and the heart.

When such films are made in the United States, the presence of heroism is usually weakened. War is fought together by everyone, living together and dying together. You sacrifice yourself for others, which is shocking to your comrades, but it will not be a turning point for the war. As Dick Winters mentioned at the end of the credits: No. I fight with a group of heroes. In war, everyone is a hero, and conversely, everyone is the same. It’s not right to make movies with war as the theme in our country. There must be heroes, and movies cannot be made without heroes.

In terms of filming techniques, the play feels no different from the movie. The framing, close-ups of the faces, and angles of the characters are all almost perfect.

Anyway, friends who like war themes must not miss this drama.

Band of Brothers quotes

  • Sgt. Alton More: I'm guessing they were Hitler's photo albums, sir. Sure had a lot of pictures of him in it.

Ronald Spiers: So, you looked at 'em, but you didn't take 'em?

Sgt. Alton More: That's right, sir.

Ronald Spiers: I don't believe you! I'll be watching you. You're dismissed.

    [as Moore leaves, smirking]

Ronald Spiers: You'd better not be lying to me.

  • Ronald Spiers: What?

SSgt. Floyd 'Tab' Talbert: Sir, if it's not going to put you in too much of a bind, I'd like to resign as company First Sergeant. If I had my choice, I miss being back amongst the men. I'd be happy to go to as Staff Sergeant, whichever platoon you want to put me in.

Ronald Spiers: Well, I guess you've earned your right to demote yourself.

SSgt. Floyd 'Tab' Talbert: Thank you, sir.

Ronald Spiers: You wanna take over Sergeant Grant's platoon?

SSgt. Floyd 'Tab' Talbert: That would do fine, sir.

Ronald Spiers: Alright then, report to Lieutenant Peacock. Let me know if he gives you any trouble.

SSgt. Floyd 'Tab' Talbert: Oh, sir? You make your decision yet?

    Ronald Spiers: Yeah, I did.
