Luo Dao might as well be able to shoot like this

This film really needs some patience to understand it after watching it.
Robert is a good actor, but not necessarily a good director. The whole film is trying to depict the tragedy of an agent sacrificing love and even sacrificing himself for the country. The director is very diligent, trying to show the character's growth experience through story editing at different times. But it feels a bit messy and a bit procrastinated. Some plots seem to deviate from the theme.
If I can replace Luo Dao to re-shoot (haha), I might as well put forward these ideas.
1. There is no problem with time and space. Matt Damon played from youth to middle age. I suggest that it be better to let Matt replay two roles, one is Edward's youth and the other is his son Edward Jr. And middle-aged Edward finds someone to act again (or an AL PASINO). . . The spatiotemporal arrangement of clips can still be interlaced. This arrangement may make the audience more dizzy. But at the end of the film, the audience suddenly realized that the middle-aged ruthless intelligence chief was the ignorant young man in World War II. The change in appearance reflected the huge change in personality (the system is ruthless and aging). The dramatic effect will be stronger. . . And when the tragedy of losing a loved one (one is a father and the other is a fiancee) is repeated on the young boy Edward, who is also played by Matt Damon, it is even more obvious that under the system, this is a repeated cycle that cannot be escaped.
2. Regarding the spy scene of Soviet surrender, I understand that the director's performance of this passage is to highlight the difficulty of spy screening and the cruelty of the CIA's work. However, it is not very helpful for the theme to be expressed in the plot, and can be deleted to shorten the length of the film.
3. It seems inappropriate to choose angelina jolie. When I watched movies, there was always a "wanted" shadow dangling in front of me (although the film was made two years before "Tong"). Otherwise, change to other more "gentle and kind" roles instead of famous actors, just second-rate actors.

Humble opinion above, just laugh.

I started to watch it for two minutes, and felt very dull, so I didn't watch it any longer. Then I took it out with the determination that I would fall asleep, and I saw Linchen all the time, the rhythm was steady, but it was exciting in a different way.
