I went shopping with my father during Chinese New Year and he bought this film because I told him it was a horror film and he happened to be very interested in it. So I watched it with him, but after returning to Shanghai, I bought another film and watched it a second time with tears in my eyes.
To be precise, I don't think this movie is a remake of "King Kong" from the 1930s, it is more like the King Kong story in Peter's own heart, because it is so far from the realm of horror movies, but there are many other things. The world—whether it is the city where Ann lives or the wild and primitive Skull Island, is full of the only truth of survival—the strong eats the weak. People deceive, plunder, and kill for their own benefit. They treat people and things around them this way, and they are convinced that others treat themselves this way. So even a girl like Ann would get up in anger when she heard the question asked by the director. Ann and King Kong live in such a world and have no intersection. Ann takes care of her own food and clothing. Although she maintains her own principles, from her confused eyes, we don't know how long she can maintain it. So is King Kong, the aborigines of the island have a long history of misunderstanding about it, and they regularly offer sacrifices to him, although in fact we later found out that he would rather eat bamboo leaves than touch the already fainted beauties. For those sacrifices, he must have always been full of hope at first, hoping that they can get along with him normally and relieve his loneliness, but we can also imagine that in the end, it must be similar to the fainted Ann: scream + fainting. However, when the two of them met, everything was different. Although they couldn't talk, they could communicate with each other's eyes and actions, which was a beautiful and sincere communication. When they watched the sunset together quietly, everything that enveloped the sunset was so beautiful and peaceful.
Beauty is fleeting, and when greed and killing smash beauty, it is not only Ann who thinks that crying, when the anesthetized King Kong reaches out to Ann, full of hope that she can walk into its palm like before ; when they happily twisted and twisted around the ice rink in New York, and then suddenly attacked; when on the top floor of the Empire State Building, when the seriously injured King Kong put his hand on his chest, when Ann said Beauty in tears; when King Kong finally gave up and fell downstairs before falling downstairs. When he stared at Ann affectionately, there were tears in his eyes except Ann and me.
Who said it was beauty that killed it, it was the damn world and the damn people in this world that killed it.
