A story worthy of the concept

The movie I watched improvisationally with my friends, even if I figured out the action timeline of the protagonists on the road, still didn't give me much pleasure. It is a tasteless story and a brain-burning concept that makes people sleepy.

1 Early rhythm confusion

I don’t know if doing homework is a standard for watching Nolan’s movies, otherwise, how can the audience grasp the rhythm of the story and understand who is doing what in the first thirty minutes. In the early stage, when there is only reverse material but no reverse time action, it is difficult for the audience to understand. The story is coherent, the part of the Indian arms dealer makes people wonder why an arms dealer cares about world peace

2 The story itself has no emotion

In the early stage, the arms dealer was an NPC for the task. In the middle stage, I saved my wife and forced the Virgin Mary. In the later stage, I felt that the relationship between the male protagonist and the base friend was suddenly lyrical. Some people said that the essence was an old-fashioned 007 story, which cannot be denied.

3 male lead skills are not online

There is nothing to say, the whole process is paralyzed, and it is really boring to play and watch the literary drama

In addition to often mystifying (de-temporal) his films, Nolan is also a director who has been severely mystified by fans. Ironically, there are no secrets at all in the narrative structure of several of his popular works. When watching "Killing", I was thinking, isn't this "Inception"? Starting from "Fatal Magic", including "Interstellar" and "Dunkirk" and "Creed", Nolan has been imitating but never surpassed Kubrick's theft story mode: the game begins- Introduce the rules-assign tasks-recruit troops-perform tasks-complete tasks-the game is over. Therefore, it can be said that his film is essentially a noir film dressed in a sci-fi coat: everything is white toss. However, Nolan always likes to make his protagonist think that he has earned something in the end, so the audience is like that spinning top, turning forever in such a routine. Compared with the master, you know how far Nolan is from the master. Look at the end of "Killing", that's the real time reversal.

Just as "Inception" uses multiple dreams to reconstruct the Grand Theft Auto movie, Creed uses time reversal to give new possibilities to the special agent movie. In fact, looking back, the plot is not particularly complicated, including contradictory composition is also very common. But after introducing the concept of time-space reversal, there are more structural tricks, which will deliberately mislead the audience, which is interesting. In addition, the film is a typical high-density narrative, with a huge amount of information, and the editing is very jumpy. This strong narrative density makes the audience have no time to think and clarify ideas at first, so it will find it difficult to understand. In the end, the film once again injected emotional elements, sensational, and it was also very Nolan. In addition, the performances of Pattinson, Washington, and Derby also added a lot to the film. I like the hardness of real shots, which is an experience that special effects cannot bring.

Tenet quotes

  • Neil: It seems you need an introduction to a prominent Mumbai local on short notice. I'm Neil.

The Protagonist: I need an audience with Sanjay Singh.

    Neil: That's not possible.

    The Protagonist: Ten minutes, tops.

Neil: Time isn't the problem. Getting out alive is the problem.

  • Neil: All doors are fireproof. Hydraulic closers, simple key and electronic triggers. Surprisingly easy once they've been locked down.

    The Protagonist: Why a lockdown?

Neil: Power switches to fail safe securing the outdoors, indoors revert to factory settings. Then pickable locks, it's a child's play really.

The Protagonist: Child's play? They're inside airport security, they have to worry about climate control not armed raid.

Neil: So how do we get enough fire power through the perimeter to trigger the lockdown procedure. That wall of Freeport.

    The Protagonist: You've got something?

Neil: You're not gonna like it.
