Chekhov has a famous theory, "Chekhov's gun", which simply means that what appears at the beginning must be used later, otherwise it should not appear at all. Original quote: "If you're not going to fire, don't let a loaded rifle appear."
For example, at the beginning of a film, the camera sweeps over an antique collectible gun on the wall, and by the end of the film, it should be at its maximum effect, with a handful of Chekov guns constructing a seemingly complex drama.
No matter how brainstorming the setting is, the coherence of details helps the work to establish a strong audience trust, and the same is true for Nolan's films. To understand the creed, you must find these "Guns of Chekhov".
