neither warm nor hot

The 007 sequel "Quantum of Solace", which took advantage of the good reputation of the previous "Casino Royale", is like a bowl of borscht after a full meal, completely calming the still excited taste buds. It's not that this episode of 007 is bad. In fact, most viewers who have watched this film think that this sequel is very "stable", and the fighting scenes, bed scenes, and explosion scenes are all presented step by step. Frankly speaking, this is a movie that can "sit and look around" on the score. It is a pity that for director Foster, who is known for making literary and artistic films, although the stability has guaranteed the consistent taste of 007 fans, it has also lost the opportunity to innovate again, which cannot be said to be a pity.
Bond's appearance is still eye-catching, and the director's camera switching is quite fast, which is dizzying, and the scene of the chase and the horse racing is just right. The subsequent Bond girls and villains all appeared one by one, and Bond also began a new round of actions to save the world. After reckless investigation time and time again, our intelligence officer successfully broke into the enemy's nest and wiped it out in one fell swoop. During this period, Bond did not forget to play the role of "Heartbreaker", which led to the unfortunate death of the beautiful Bond Girl No. 2 being covered with black oil. That's not all, Brother Bond threw his old friend's body into the trash again, took the money and left. Counting his own informants who were inexplicably killed by Bond before, all of them verified the statement that "As soon as Bond appeared, he shocked his own family". It can be seen that being an intelligence agent is indeed a laborious and thankful thing.
Of course, there is a reward for hard work. In the end of the film, Bond is still a ruthless villain. Before leaving, he did not forget to drop a small can of gasoline to relieve his hatred, which was indeed very pleasing. It's a pity that after watching the director's entire layout, I still feel that there are many plots that can be expanded in detail. The last episode of "Casino Royale" is both "action" and "literary". In the battle between pros and cons, Bond also suffered a lot because of his arrogance. On the other hand, in "Quantum of Solace", not only does Bond girl Olga Kurylenko fade away from the charm of "Killer 47", but also adds that when Bond girl and her father-killing enemy fought, she recalled her childhood when she saw the house on fire. It is a scene of a nightmare, but this is barely one of the few sketches of human nature and emotion in this film. But the often dismal appearance of Bond girls makes people feel a little depressing. As for Bond going all the way to the end, it loses a lot of exciting effects without the suspense. On the whole, the film has neither bright spots nor too many failures. It is quite satisfactory and tepid.
The 007 film will still continue. Maybe Bond will still pretend to be cool after making a mistake. I just don’t know if we will squeeze out half a tear when Bond’s hero is too late one day.

Quantum of Solace quotes

  • James Bond: How much oil did the Americans promise you?

    M: This isn't about oil.

James Bond: Well, that's good because there isn't any.

M: It's about trust. You said you weren't motivated by revenge.

James Bond: I'm motivated by my duty.

M: No. I think you're so blinded by inconsolable rage that you don't care who you hurt. When you can't tell your friends from your enemies, it's time to go.

  • M: It'd be a pretty cold bastard who didn't want revenge for the death of someone he loved.
