Not Only A Story Teller

When I watched Big Fish, I hugged the person beside my pillow and cried bitterly.
The most painful thing in this world, is to see a person you love dying in front of your eyes.
But that's not what the movie is about, and it's never the point.
There are so many things to focus on here. Every character is so alive and lovable. Each story is full of reverie, warm without losing sadness, but also so peaceful. Cover the screen and close your eyes, and your heart is full of various colors lingering for a long time.

"Big Fish" is one of my favorite movies I've seen in so many years.

Compared with Tim Burton's early "Scissorhands and Edward", "Big Fish" is more like a life story for an adult who has experienced the vicissitudes of life. There is no label, no emphasis, just telling a story, but let people hear too many voices outside the story. This is where the director is brilliant. If "Edward Scissorhands" is a portrayal of Tim Burton when he was young, then "Big Fish" is a mature Tim who has no intention to compete with the world, and has no intention of showing off his vulgarity and ostentation. A director who doesn't need to use his work to speak for himself and shape himself can shoot something that everyone can't expect.

The name "Big Fish" is a great name. Many people will think it's a sci-fi movie after seeing the name. They focus on a big fish and want to see if the big fish is really mysterious, or if it is a big fish. A water monster, or in the story, this big fish has various conjectures such as strange spiritual power. However, as the plot unfolded slowly, it was finally discovered that this big fish was just an illusory thing that never existed. It starts with a mysterious big fish and ends with an inexplicable big fish. Just like the feeling the film itself gives you, it is an ethereal feeling that is not a fairy tale but a fairy tale. When you watch the film, you look back and find that such a title is really appropriate. This wonderful feeling is really satisfying and fulfilling.

A big focus of the film is on the role of the father. The role of the father was created from Will's point of view. A father is a great and responsible character. For me personally, my upbringing was heavily influenced by my father. His work and temperament have deeply influenced my values and development, as well as my mate selection criteria. For Will, Frank was a huge influence on him too. Frank said, in fact, your profession is writing stories, and I am telling stories, it is no different. When he finally parted, Will told a story as good as his father's. At the end of the movie, Will tells his son the story of the big fish. A continuation of an unspoken but incomparably strong family affection that warms people's hearts.

Another focus of the film I think is Frank's life. Frank's life is so legendary and romantic, true and false. The unswerving love between him and his wife is touching, his selflessness to his friends has been rewarded in the end, and his bravery has given him too much fruit. Such a golden life is very enviable. But when everyone thought he was a hero, the son said that his father didn't tell the truth, giving everyone a blow. Indeed, such a miraculous life, maybe it really shouldn't be possessed by an ordinary human being, maybe he is just a big talker, we also questioned it together. At this point Frank seems to have become a normal person again, a fat dad who brags about himself. But the people who finally attended the funeral seemed to say that the life of my father was not fiction. After the truth and the false are changed, in fact, no one will pursue everything that is true or false. Like Will said at the end. Sometimes it's not about believing what's real, it's about believing what you believe.

Will's mother, Will's wife, the little girl in Fengdu, the poet who robbed the bank... There are too many characters in Frank's story, and they are all essential colors that make the whole movie dreamy and rich. Everyone is addicted to it.

Big Fish is a movie that is well-received and not well-received. I deeply feel that there are very few people who can understand it and see it in their hearts. There are no explosive scenes, no exciting plots, just lightly telling stories one by one, jumping with each other and not related. There are no heroes, no villains, just ordinary and ordinary people. However, we are left with an indescribable emotion, a memory that seems to be absent.

I'll be sure to watch it a few more times when the time is right, there's still so much to catch.

May we be like that special big fish, without biting hooks, and not being trapped by life. People are most likely to get into trouble when they are young and middle-aged. He claims to be well-versed in the world, well versed in the human world; pursuing reality but repeatedly encountering frustrations, thinking a lot but not knowing where to start. After his youth and his father's death, Will believed in those interesting stories, just like his father. Life has been so hard, it makes me feel like a tripod, but I just want to tell you with a smile: Look at this tripod, is it big and round?
