I was in college when I watched this movie. In the evening class, the teacher showed it to us. It was freezing rain on the way back to the dormitory after class. We were wearing long down jackets and barely holding our umbrellas in the wind. The ground was freezing and very slippery. We gritted our teeth and walked hard in the rain. The wind wrapped the raindrops like dense silver needles of ice, wetting the hem of our down jacket. I shivered and thought, my shoes won't dry through tomorrow, what should I wear? Really can't imagine what will happen the day after tomorrow.
During the four years in Wuxi, the use of eczema and frostbite in winter has forever changed a certain order of the skin of my right index finger, so that when I touch a slightly stronger detergent such as washing powder or dish soap, eczema will come immediately. The report reminds me not to forget the good times of youth. (My delusional conspiracy to escape housework was shattered by the existence of such a thing as rubber gloves). As an out-and-out poor student, I am content with a bowl of battered noodles and an egg in the morning. There is no air conditioning, and the wooden bed directly covered with the mat is still hot like a heated kang, and we have to sleep on the floor tiles that have been dragged shirtless. Some summer evenings, schools are afraid of life, and they will use pickup trucks to transport the whole car of ice. A master picked up a chisel and cut open the huge ice cubes. We were like victims waiting for relief. While dodging the crushed ice, we grabbed the ice cubes with plastic buckets, so that we could go back and put them in front of the fans and make our own air conditioners. In winter, the warm water bag is cold on the feet and hands, and it is cold on the hands and feet, and the warmth is not a good thing. Chilblains will itch, and it is not painful to say no. The person under the two quilts could not move, and could only lie down like a mummy. When he woke up in the morning, the edge of the quilt near his nose would be covered with a layer of pure frost.
Of course I speak with pride now, as if I had survived those days, I would be considered a warrior, only deep down I still understand how hard it was at the time, but I don’t really know how I got here. However, this is nothing compared to the movie. When I look at it again, I feel that no one can stand up to the past. The reason why there are so many survivors in human beings is entirely because the director is a person. If the director is a mouse, the plot is that all humans died at the scene of this huge disaster, and they would not admit that only humans in the northern hemisphere were affected. Then the plot is more or less the rise of the mouseball. I really believe that if disaster strikes in the film, the only ones who will survive the storm are mice and cockroaches.
Heaven and earth are not benevolent and take all things as cud, let alone the scale of the universe, not even the scale of the solar system. From the scale of the earth, we are nothing. We feel that we have controlled and conquered the planet, changing its surface shape recklessly, slaughtering the aliens and the same kind, and thinking that we are on par with the gods. Actually we are nothing. Hurricanes, typhoons, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, mudslides, we are nothing. There is no natural revenge, or roar, at all. Nature is nature. This planet rotates and revolves every day, never stopping for a minute or a second for human beings. To protect the environment is to protect human beings. Really, the environment does not need our protection, there is never good or bad, it should never be personified. It is true that we want to save ourselves.
However, not everyone felt that the situation had reached its most critical moment. Exhausted from working overtime every day, who cares about environmental protection or animal protection, but it is enough to eat. Although Baby Anne is already a taboo name that has been abandoned, I think there is a sentence she wrote very well: "Many people blindfold and think that they will live forever without damage, or even immortal. They believe in their own hands. There is always time to be reckless and do things that are wasted and regretted. Always think you can get another chance.” People are born selfish. Not to mention love the environment, the earth, and human beings, they don't even love themselves. For the sake of being delusional, they smoke and take a lot of alcohol (I don’t think it’s a poison that penetrates the intestines). Once they get sick, they start to complain and feel that they are just unlucky. So many people have the same bad living habits. Hate the injustice of fate. No, it's not that you are unlucky, it's just that others are too lucky. Besides, it is not unreported, the time has not yet come. It's like the vice president in the movie, who thinks that the economic cost is too high, the movement is too big, it's unsafe, and it's unstable. How can you prove yourself right? Isn't there a hundred years left? Then the storm came, the temperature plummeted, and he was lucky, the boss obeyed the law of causality, escaped himself, and had the opportunity to sit in the warm Mexico and say affectionately to the TV camera, I was wrong.
In the end, although I wanted to raise my arms and shout slogans, it was like eating less takeout, bringing an environmental bag, and changing my destiny with a single effort. But my own power is really small, I can only be worthy of my conscience, pass my own test, and I don’t have high requirements for myself. As for the practice of zero-waste practitioners, I can't do it, and I don't dare to do it. I'm afraid of being treated as a freak, and I don't dare to investigate how many interests are involved, or whether the practice is scientific. I don't have the ability. Also, I don't plan to have children, my cat will definitely not live as long as I do, have no offspring, and don't care about the future of mankind. I also advise you to just live by and don't think too much. It's useless to think, luck is the final deciding factor, not money status, nor knowledge or morality. There must be Arab chiefs on Noah's Ark, Russian tycoons, Tibetan workers, or the daughters of poor professors. It wasn't the Queen of England who didn't let go of the Bible in the library, and the homeless man and his dog were still alive. But the earth will perish, so will the sun, and two galaxies may collide and merge. We have no idea what the so-called universe is. No one's gonna make it. You have no future. I also have no future. The sun may or may not rise tomorrow. The day after tomorrow will never come.
Do you still care about money, fame, your son's sexuality? Do you still care about health, love, and the ownership of real estate for a lifetime? For example, I use a plastic straw to drink a cup of milk tea every day. My mouse battery is dead and I throw it into the trash at random. 99 three-piece dresses are really cheap. I don’t want to buy them. I throw three bags of garbage bags into the trash every day. Wrinkle your nose and leave without thinking about where they went. I can't live without takeout and all kinds of packaged food, and I've never felt like paying a few cents for a plastic bag is a problem. But I am not unaware. I also retweeted when I saw a turtle with a straw in its nose. I also liked when I saw a call to reduce wildlife products. I even participated in Earth Hour, turning off the lights, lighting candles, and swiping my phone. An hour passed quickly. I don't think there's anything wrong with my life. I originally planned to use the second person for this paragraph, but later I felt it was too aggressive, as if I was tall and worthy.
Ice and snow reflect sunlight, and the planet is once again in a new equilibrium. Close your browser and forget about the movie in a blink of an eye.
