Why are there no self-driving cars in the Super Marines?

Super Marines is a nerd movie, but it's different from "The Big Bang Theory", which is mainly a bunch of theoretical physicists. Even the most hands-on Howard is just fiddling with 3D printing a few times in it. trendy stuff.

The Super Marines are full of technological imagination because of the animation. The incomplete foreword technical applications are as follows:

1 Intelligent robot
2 3D printing
3 Mobile medicine
4 ...
(As a liberal arts brain, I can't remember what the other opening labs mentioned, and I will add it when I check).

However, it is such a great application of technological innovation, why do they only drive a manual transmission car? Why not driverless cars? Why isn't high technology applied to cars?

I do not know either. I just want to say that one is either needed for the plot, the other is a scriptwriting bug, and the third is that the tech enthusiasts among these creators are actually not very optimistic about the concept of unmanned vehicles.

I didn't think about it anyway.
