The reason I like this film so much is that it makes "people" less important. Humans are not the masters of the world, but only part of the entire ecosystem. The failure of the alien is also that it only launched aggression against humans, not against the entire world system. In the end, although it defeated humans, it lost to the ecosystem. This kind of non-centered animism view of human beings is actually a bit close to Terrence Malick's film, feel it... At the beginning of the film, the thorn that the little loli was stabbed into the hand is the eye of the whole film.
