Be aware of the real bomb.

The rush of battle is often a potent and lethal addiction, for war is a drug.
---Chris Hedges

You love playing with that. You love playing with all your stuffed animals. You love your mommy, your daddy, your natural pajamas. You love everything, don't you? But you know what, buddy? Once you get older, some of the things that you love might not seem so special anymore, you know, like your Jake in The box. Maybe you realize it's just a piece of tin and a stuffed animal, and then you'll forget the few things you really love, and by time you get to my age maybe it's only one or two things. With me I think it's one.
----Form the Hurt Locker, said by James, actor of this film.

If this kind of film released in here, what could happen? Can it win the highest cinema award? I'm not believe in it. On the contrary, Avatar does. But, in the 82 annual academy award, the Hurt Locker becomes the biggest winner. It's not only a film that tells us a great story, but also tells everyone it's the love that will give us peace in heart, which will make us more stronger.

I'm a person that don't know exactly what love is. But in recent months, peace comes to me. In my point of view, this means that I'm growing up. When time goes by, everything becomes so complicated and out of my control. The only thing I can do is to forgive everyone who hurts me before. I talk to myself, go, go to love, without any fear. I'll love mommy, daddy, other family members, dear friends, even my classmates and future colleges. I'll love people, especially for the one who loves me. And also, although I don't have my Mr. Right until now, I'll never stop the finding steps.

Living in this world, everyone is a hurt locker, we disarm bombs that we meet in real world. These bombs are different from the the real ones, but some others. It could be cheating, betraying, beating, and many other bad things that could be harm for us both in physical or psychological aspects. If we had dropped off our hope, we would never get up from those hurting. Maybe, we would be blow up by "the bombs".

So, keep on keeping on. I can hear the white shores are calling. Finally, the award belongs to people who has faith in love and hope.

There is no sense of rhythm in the whole film, and the plot spreading is also puzzling. It is a pity that a material that was originally good has been made like this. After all, the female director is really not sensitive in grasping this kind of film.

The first ten minutes and the last ten minutes are completely different from the hands of a director. The first ten minutes are almost firmly grasped by the atmosphere created by the scheduling + audiovisual. This is the Bigelow I am familiar with. The last ten minutes immediately start from the anti-war film. Become a pro-war film, accompanied by a super-high rock soundtrack, swaggered onto the battlefield, this is definitely not the indifferent Bigelow, this is a full metal shell beaten with blood, and the good impression of the whole film is at the end. Ten minutes discount

The Hurt Locker quotes

  • Sergeant JT Sanborn: I'm not ready to die, James.

Staff Sergeant William James: Well, you're not gonna die out here, bro.

Sergeant JT Sanborn: Another two inches, shrapnel zings by, slices my throat, I bleed out like a pig in the sand. Nobody'll give a shit. I mean my parents - they care - but they don't count, man. Who else? I don't even have a son.

Staff Sergeant William James: Well, you're gonna have plenty of time for that, amigo.

    Sergeant JT Sanborn: Naw, man.

Staff Sergeant William James: You know?

Sergeant JT Sanborn: I'm done. I want a son. I want a little boy, Will. I mean, how do you do it, you know? Take the risk?

Staff Sergeant William James: I-I don't know. I mean, I just, uh... I guess I don't think about it.

Sergeant JT Sanborn: Every time we go out, it's life or death. You roll the dice. You recognize that, don't you?

Staff Sergeant William James: Yeah-yeah... Yeah, I do, but I don't know why, you know? Yeah...

Staff Sergeant William James: [sighs] I don't know, JT. You know why, you know... I'm the way I am?

Sergeant JT Sanborn: No, I don't.

  • Colonel John Cambridge: [waving] So long. Thank you.
