I think the focus of this film is not on pedophilia, fatalism, solving suspenseful cases, and the psychological shadow of child harm. The core of this film is portraying the role of the wife. Different wives make different husbands! ! ! ! ! ! If you understand that Eastwood, the director of the film, divorced for the second time at the age of 84, and has experienced a colorful emotional world, you will not understand the intention of the film. Therefore, as a man, I can only sigh that it is not easy to find a rational and good wife.
Sean's marriage was mentioned from the beginning of the film. He didn't talk to his wife for 6 months. Every time he called his wife, he talked to himself unilaterally. He avoided the female police officer's trial. It can be seen that Sean still attaches great importance to his wife's family. The man, the wife still can't put Sean in her heart, and often makes silent phone calls. At the end of the film, the couple finally released their suspicions. Although she ran away with anger, she was still a good wife who valued her family, her husband, and was reasonable in her feelings.
Jimmy has a happy and happy family. Although Katie is not the biological biological wife of the current wife, the family relationship is harmonious. The daughter and stepmother have a close relationship. It can be seen from the stepmother's reaction after the daughter's death. Especially at the end of the film, the stepmother knows that her husband is going to be a daughter. In the case of revenge, there is still no unnecessary dissuasion. Even though she found out that her husband had killed the wrong person, she still tried her best to enlighten her. Absolute virtuous helper, absolute support for her husband, and a rare good wife.
In contrast, Dave's wife, on the surface, is a harmonious family, but there is no mutual trust between husband and wife at all. In the middle of the film, the news of Katie's death came. After Dave put his son to sleep, the expression and eyes of his wife and Dave went upstairs after talking. What's even more extreme is that she knew that her husband was hurt when she was young, but instead of choosing to understand, she chose to take away her son and confided her concerns to outsiders, causing her husband to be killed.
In contrast, the three wives have a clear rank, and the three husbands are good husbands and fathers, but different wives bring different endings to different husbands. A deep understanding of this film is definitely a compulsory course for being a good wife.
