Dead Poet Society read N times (N>5) , this is a film that is full of humanism and a thoroughly "human" film. People long for freedom, but they are tired of freedom. The unstoppable yearning for freedom in human nature, the infinite passion unleashed by freedom. It is the reason why it has deeply moved me.

But this review, the feeling is no longer just passion. Every time I watch this film, I always avoid those very tragic parts, Neil's death, the death is very tragic (it should be said), it can also be said that the death is very helpless. His dream is not there and will never be realized. He can only live in the life that his father arranged for him. He is no longer himself, but a body and a tool to realize the life that has been designed. There is a scene in the movie, when Neil and his father were arguing, he questioned his father who never asked him what he wanted, and his father asked him what he wanted. At this time, he was silent. Why didn't he say aloud what was in his heart, was he afraid to confront his father, or was he desperate for his father and the world, and he chose another way of resistance, which was death. He used death to resist this cold world, and he also used death to realize the pursuit of his dream in his heart. Death became a ritual. Neil is cowardly and brave. He can't face the reality head-on and pursue his dream strong in the cruel reality, maybe he will succeed in the end. But he is brave. He dares to use his life to pursue his dream. For him, his dream is his life. He is free, and his freedom has transcended the bondage of flesh and life.

But at the same time, it can also be said that freedom also has a price, Sartre said: "Man is doomed to suffer from freedom. Because he did not create himself, but he is free, because once thrown into the world , he has to be responsible for everything he does." People have to pay for their choices, and Neil uses his actions to pursue that freedom, so he has to pay the price, his father's reproach, his mother's tears, And his life.

In such a school, perhaps in such a society, everyone, the principal, the teacher, the parents, is a source of restraint. In their eyes, there are only grades, a good major, a decent job, A decent life. They only know that we "should", not that we "want". As long as the students are under strict supervision, they only need to prepare the rules, the rules of the school, the orders of their parents, the rules of life. No one cares and no one wants to know where they are "themselves". But even in such an environment, they could not restrain their desire for freedom, beauty, romance, poetry, and love. They are eager to break through the obstacles and pursue the power that really comes from the bottom of their hearts. Keating is the one who leads them to see this power within. People are human not because they keep themselves alive, but because of their minds. Pascal said: "Man is but a reed, the most fragile thing in nature; but he is a thinking reed. All our dignity is in thinking." People not only accept the outside world and what others give, but also seek meaning from themselves. People are no longer creatures surrounded by the cold world outside, but a great human being with a rich inner world. . The exploration of the inner world of people, to listen to people's voices, to listen to their own voices, is more fascinating than listening to the natural voices and the voices of others. This is man. In any case, every life is a unique and unique individual whose value can never be replaced by others.

If the bondage in the movie is tangible and rigid, then the bondage in our lives tends to be more and more invisible. Life tells people to be realistic. People are reluctant to think about what dreams they have in their hearts, maybe they will laugh at Keating as a fool, and have a good life, but what ideals are they going to pursue? Maybe they will occasionally have ripples in their hearts, but they will be wiped out by themselves. People no longer need repression from others, they have turned themselves into a yoke. They would rather be in a dream than wake up. Because waking thinking is painful and has a price, they would rather choose the so-called happiness. There are also many people who have dreams in their hearts, but they finally bow their heads after experiencing reality. So they joined those people, laughing at and suppressing those fresh dreams together. People are only willing to live according to routines and norms, regardless of whether it is what they want or not, and maybe they have thought about it, but life is very realistic, very realistic, and we do not have the capital to pursue those dreams. So we continue to live like this. Maybe this is life, you don't need to think about it, just live it.

Facing reality, ideals are always so fragile, so Keating's departure is inevitable. Beautiful things are often not understood by people. In fact, he is really naive. Those who are the purest and best qualities of human beings, why should they suffer To people's scorn, ridicule and abandonment. Like Keating finally had to leave. People do not attribute fault to their evil, but to good souls. Is this the truth of the world? For those beautiful things, people admire them and lament their disappearance, but at the same time spurn them for fear of avoiding them.

This film felt very exciting at first glance, but today is a little dignified. But no matter what, you still have to hold on to hope, and have the yearning and pursuit of the most beautiful and true human nature. I think that's what the director wants to tell us too. Although Keating is gone, he has planted that seed in every child's heart, waiting for one day to sprout and blossom. Maybe that person will be Todd, because he has such a huge power in his heart, and maybe he also knows how to survive in reality.

When we look up at the vast starry sky, should we also look deep into the secret and exciting world? As an outstanding work of nature, man must release his own power, otherwise, what is his life? To live just to live, to live without rules, to live like a "normal" person, to live the life that was set for oneself at birth.

I also want to be a person like Keating, to clear the fog, clear all the things that the predecessors have set for you, to find your answers, to find yourself. Whether that's good or bad. I am an idealist, but I am also a realist, knowing that the realization of ideals in reality is perfect. But no matter what, those who are persistent in pursuing freedom and pursuing their dreams are always respectable.
