Zhan Yimei's "Split" is a visual feast for acting fans, and this is the only reason for me to watch this film if I don't watch horror and horror films. After watching "Split", it is completely understandable why so many industry and peers call Yimei a "genius" and "legendary" actor. His performance in this film is truly wonderful and intriguing. There has never been a role tailored for an actor, but Yimei can irreplaceably perform roles that can be said to be contrary to his image. After watching "Split", I can't think of anyone who can better interpret this group of characters with different characteristics than Yimei. Among the 8 personalities that appeared on the camera, Dennis and Patricia should be firmly in the coffee position, and the scenes of taking turns in the village are really exciting! The two of them plus Heidweather are the real home ground. Compared with the unfortunate childhood of the protagonist Ge Kevin, this is more like the combination mode of a normal family of three, isn't it very interesting? The most powerful thing is that Yimei can not only create different personalities in terms of personality, but even allow you to distinguish which personality is currently displayed from the perspective of gender. The Patricia created by Yimei has a calm and indifferent impression at the beginning, and at the end you can feel her beauty, which is different from Dennis and belongs to women, through the tiniest expressions. Yes, Yimei gives Patricia every expression with grace, and as a viewer, I can definitely use "beautiful" to describe this female personality. And such Patricia is a perfect match with the strong and executive Dennis, plus the 9-year-old bear... It's a combination that is scary enough and a little romantic. Dennis and Patricia can be said to have achieved what Dr. Fletcher called symbiosis, ruling the body almost at the same time. Patricia first appeared in front of the audience when the girls saw her and Dennis having a "conversation" through the crack of the door; when taking the girls for dinner, Patricia cut a sandwich crookedly and suddenly compulsively slapped the knife The scene on the cooking table is also classic; and on the night of the birth of the climactic "Beast", Dennis directly gave up his body to Patricia after buying the representative bouquet, and did not wait until he arrived at the train station. Back to Dennis. A series of fascinating and mysterious transformations in the middle are really stunned. This is the calm shock that Yimei brings to the audience. Dennis is arguably the longest-running personality in the film. Obsessive-compulsive disorder is the only uncontrollable way he can reveal his identity, and he replaces Barry, the once dominant personality, and even deceives people other than doctors by imitating Barry. Here are some absolutely wonderful scenes in "Split". In the three meetings with the doctor's grandma, Yimei's interpretation is amazing. Thought it was Barry, but it was actually Dennis. However, compared Barry's extroverted personality, Dennis is a typical obsessive-compulsive disorder, Yimei presents a Dennis or Patricia with the identity of "Barry" through extremely subtle details, when the doctor mentioned "Protecting Kevin" "In the original intention, the expression of that he or she performed by Yimei can even be called gentle and beautiful, but after being identified by the doctor as Dennis, she calmly changed to Yimei's self-disciplined expression, her eyes and expressions. The acting is terrifyingly terrifying. It's no wonder that the public is amazed and praised for this, Yimei's certain talent in acting is absolutely wonderful. Here he doesn't see anything sweet and sweet like Charles ("X-Men") or Robbie ("Atonement") or schoolgirl ("Love Credit"), nor is it Bruce ("The Dirt") or Simon ("Psychedelic") as wicked or brutally dark and gloomy. The beauty in "Split" is very mysterious, and there is a sense of oppression invisibly. It is a breathless and breathtaking feeling that is partially revealed through Dennis, Patricia, and Hedweather. And this is definitely not the "excessive force" that some people who fall into the so-called deep acting misunderstanding say, because the transformation of these three interdependent personalities is extremely smooth and free, and the "beast" that comes from them , and it seems natural, that is the power they expect. Compared with other relatively fragile and undemanding personalities, this dramatic difference is extremely stark, and it is equally unsatisfactory. They are free, and the "beast" that came because of them also seems to be a matter of course, that is the power they expect. Yimei’s acting skills are amazing. Within one minute, they don’t rely on any external makeup to perform. Several personalities talk to each other to distinguish who is and who can be distinguished clearly and not pretentiously. Amazing. The plot is also very tense and the ending is slightly weak.

    Yimei's face-changing show, Professor x's prequel (mistake).

Split quotes

  • Marcia: [as Claire struggles with door] It doesn't matter if you open that door, Claire. There's a second locked door.

Claire Benoit: He's gonna come in here again any second now, and we're not gonna let him take one of us out again. We just screamed and didn't hurt him, because we were afraid he'd get upset. God, that's victim shit!

[with her hands in her hair:]

Claire Benoit: Jesus! We should fight him! We should drop a crazy-ass bomb on him!

Casey Cooke: [quietly] I saw him carry one of you in here and lay you on the bed like you weighed nothing. One punch from him would knock one of us out.

Claire Benoit: I took... I took six months of Kenpo karate class. And you distract the assailant with pain.

Casey Cooke: Everything is so easy for you guys. You do one thing, you can predict the next thing.

    [shakes her head]

Casey Cooke: It's not the way it's gonna be in this situation.

Claire Benoit: We're not getting out of here! You're saying you're not gonna fight with everything in you? You know, the only chance... the only chance we have is if all three of us go crazy on this guy. We have to hurry!

Marcia: We need you, Casey. Claire's smart. Let's listen to her. I'll do it, but you're gonna do it too. We can win.

Casey Cooke: He'll hurt us. No, shut up. Both of you.

Claire Benoit: [to Casey] You're gonna pick your miserable self up and help us get out of here.

Casey Cooke: Blow me. And your six months of karate at the King of Prussia mall can blow me too.

Claire Benoit: No. No, you can't, can't do this today. You can't do this right now. Why do you do this? Why do you act like this? Why do you act like you're not one of us?

  • Dennis: [to the three captives] Patricia has reminded me that... I was sent to you for a reason. That... you are sacred food. And I promise not to bother you again.

    [shuts door as he leaves]

Marcia: Maybe he has a dog or something. You think he's gonna feed us to his dogs?
