It's an atypical war movie, without the thrilling confrontation of "Bold in the City," or the bloody war reflections of "Saving Private Ryan," at least in my opinion. It's a war movie that makes you look comfortable. Because in this film you see more of the person you want to be.
In this film, the protagonist has always been a person with a "savior plot". He has always wanted to be a "sheepdog" since he was a child. Protect those around you. For the most part he always thinks about others before himself, so he's not a successful person in the first few minutes of the film. Because I have to say, in real life. If you have such a mentality, it is difficult to become the so-called "superior person". Because today's society is such a realistic situation, refined egoists are the mainstream. Fortunately, the protagonist found a suitable stage for him - the battlefield. Of course, his starting point is to protect more people. He believes that he can protect more people from the ravages of war on the battlefield. However, from the very beginning, he found that the reality was not as good as he imagined, and it was difficult for him to accept hurting those so-called "enemies" in his heart. It can be seen in the inner struggle of the first time he shot the child. Although he chose to convince himself that he had protected the lives of his fellow citizens, there was always this contradiction in his heart. And I think this is the so-called "war trauma" expressed in many war films. A living life passes by your side, or after one of your trigger pulls. This seems unacceptable to a person of complete mind and compassion. Therefore, all good war films are actually anti-war without exception. They are telling you how serious the destruction of war is to people's hearts. This is not only reflected in the astonishing casualty figures in the books, but also in the performance in the hearts of everyone involved in this matter.
At the end of the film, the protagonist dies under the gun of the person rescued by the protagonist. It could also be his ending. Because he is an ordinary person with almost no flaws, but a flawed warrior.
