I have heard about this movie a long time ago and have seen many clips, but I just finished watching it today, which coincides with the severe epidemic and cannot go out. As the first film of the Ice Age series, while giving us a lot of fun and warmth, it also gave us a lot of inspiration and a lot of thinking.
A sloth, a saber-toothed tiger, and a mammoth, three animals that lived during the Ice Age, finally came together and embarked on an amazing journey, sounds odd isn't it? Manny is a mammoth who lost his parents (killed by primitive humans). From every detail in the movie, it can be seen that he is firm and persistent, and at the same time likes to fight injustice. At first, he expressed disdain for Sid, but he still came to the rescue. Sid is a timid sloth who is abandoned by family and friends, but loves to make friends. Saber-toothed tigers are not much talkative, but a thoughtful character. The reason why the three can come together is because a human child was accidentally rescued by Sid, Manny promised to return the child to human with Sid, and the saber-toothed tiger (sorry can't remember what it was called) Although he wanted to snatch the child, But forced by the power of the mammoths, they had to pretend to be a guide to lead them both to find humans. After a series of dangers and setbacks along the way, the three guys finally developed a brotherhood, saber-toothed tiger gave up the kidnapping of human children, and started adventures with Manny and Sid.
In fact, many interesting things can be found by analyzing the characters and experiences of the three guys. The mammoth parents were hunted by humans, and it could have ignored the child or even killed it, but the kindness of its heart prevented it from making such a decision. In fact, it is also very afraid of humans, which can be seen from the fact that it did not dare to show up when the child was finally sent back. Saber-toothed tiger and Manny's experiences are somewhat similar. Most of their populations are occupied by humans. They want to take revenge by getting the child. However, through the passage with Manny and Sid, its heart gradually changed. He felt that the child itself was nothing. Wrong, and Manny and Sid have become his good friends, so it will finally help drive the other saber-toothed tigers away. Sid is more interesting. It is a sloth who lacks love, and has a timid personality and a relatively simple mind. But it can always change the person who goes with him. . . Well, it should be relaxing. And when it faces some weak statements, it is always willing to dedicate its love to care for them, which is the fundamental reason why all stories can begin.
This film tells me that when making friends, you have to dare to show your love, as long as it is also full of love, no matter whether it has the ability or strength; in addition, it is when others hurt you. At times, don't transfer your anger to other irrelevant people. Even if you hurt this person, you basically don't need to pay any price, and you can't do it.
In the end, it was that squirrel that really made the film's finishing touch, haha!
