Indeed, Edward Scissorhands is a fairy tale, but a cruel one.
Edward is a robot with scissor hands who lives in a castle on a hill. A kindly Mrs. Borg found and took him in. But in the reality represented by Mrs. Borg's neighborhood, Edward's simple goodness was trampled in every way. His genius in gardening and barbering attracted housewives in droves.
But he is ignorant of the world and has no intention of concealing himself. His admiration for the heroine is exploited, and his scissors become a tool to help others commit crimes. Then he was arrested, and all the trouble followed. In the end, it even became the target of public criticism, and other residents in the town could not wait to get rid of it. After killing the ex-boyfriend who tried to hurt the heroine, Edward remained in the castle forever. At Christmas every year, he will wave the magic scissors and carve his beloved out of ice cubes, a town that never snows, and snowflakes will float every year. Forever.
The only consolation is that Edward eventually wins the heroine's heart, although they never meet again.
Perhaps in reality, there is no shortage of kindness. It's just that the ugly side of people drives away the good and the beautiful. In order not to be hurt, they can only hide and wait until the right time to create a miracle. Let us be amazed by the beauty of snowflakes.
Thirteen years have passed, and now it seems that the change of the protagonist johnny depp is also amazing. He seemed like a natural fit for such a quirky role (whether in Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or Pirates of the Caribbean, he's terribly weird), but thirteen years ago, the innocent pair of The confused and sad eyes never appeared again. It was as if they were sealed into the castle on the top of the mountain with Edward, waiting for curious and kind-hearted people to open the door.
