Edward Scissorhands - a classic feel

This is a comment from 4 years ago (2001), and I'll show it to everyone -

I haven't read it before, not even when it was broadcast on CCTV 6 a few days ago. This time, I bought a DVD and watched it with our sister-in-law, and I thought it was very good. I used to think it was a horror movie, something like a murder weapon made by a Frankenstein. After reading it, I realized that it is not only not scary but also very romantic.

The director is Tim Burton, the director of The Batman. Starring Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder, a handsome boy and a pretty girl at the time. Winona Ryder is the heroine of "400 Years of Horror" in which Zero's heart beats at first sight.

This is a fairy tale for adults, romantic and warm. The fairy tale line of Beauty and the Beast, the theme of "others are more human than humans", but the director's childlike imagination gives the film a unique visual style.

Johnny Depp's performance is very good, his eyes, mouth corners, gait, and even the catharsis when he is angry, all fit such an innocent and kind image. His lines are not many, but they are definitely tear-jerking.

The hair style design and gardening style of this film are also unique, as well as the use and matching of colors, which are very unique and can be summed up in four words - originality.

By the end of the film, we both agreed that there was a real end-of-movie feeling—walking out of the movie theater, stretching, rubbing your eyes, taking a deep breath, thinking back to the scene, closing your eyes and smiling.

The town in the film never snowed before, and it was only after Edward showed up that snowflakes began to fly over the land. When it snows, think Edward Scissorhands.

  • Bill: OK, everybody. Grab your plates. Soup's on.

Edward: [with mouth full] I thought this was shish-ka-bob.

    Bill: What?

Edward: [a little clearer] I thought this was shish-ka-bob.

Bill: Yeah, it is shish-ka-bob. It's a figure of speech, Ed.

  • Esmerelda: He has been sent first to tempt you. But it's not too late. You must push him from you, expel him! Trample down the perversion of nature!
