Those who don’t understand basketball don’t judge this film indiscriminately.

When I watched this movie, I can think of it as a movie that won't have much praise, because it tells a piece of history, the story of ABA and NBA. It is destined to not have too many audiences.

Purely as a movie classified into a funny category, his plot is terrible and clichéd, and he is not funny even though the actors are hoarse in the hot scene and perform their High.

The basketball world entered a bottleneck in the 1960s. In the NBA palace at that time, the Boston Celtics simply dominated the world. With their strong teamwork and impeccable offense and defense, they have formed a dominance situation. Although they are no one in the world, but for the majority of basketball fans, they are less creative.

As a result, there is a group of "players" in professional sports who are desperate to challenge the NBA and founded the ABA (America Basketball Association) in 1967, wanting to fight against the NBA. They adopt a different business model from the NBA, and even lift more restrictions, allowing talented players to enter professional teams to show their talents. After the ABA, due to poor management and lack of media support, it was finally dissolved in 1976. Later, four teams were merged into the NBA. They were the New Jersey Nets, the Indiana Pacers, the San Antonio Spurs and the Denver Kings. Block team; ABA-owned players, some have also entered other NBA teams to continue their professional careers.

Although ABA has only operated for a short period of 9 years, its influence is far-reaching. Not only the new rules they created (such as the three-point line, ABA was adopted earlier than the NBA), but also the style of playing that gave future generations of basketball a lot of inspiration. Modern NBA young players have done actions, such as Michael Jordan's dunk from the free throw line, Vince Carter's slam dunk from the cross, and so on. In the ABA era, stars have already tried these actions. They can say that they have created a breakthrough point for future generations to cross this technical barrier.
Forty years ago, three-point shots and fancy dunks were regarded as rebellious in the NBA and would be criticized by orthodox supporters of basketball. However, many of the ABA's actions at that time added a lot to professional basketball. Free creativity, including completely unrestricted exaggerated clothing and hairstyles for players on and off the court, absorbing college dropout players to join the ABA, and even many propaganda methods that advertise an unfettered, wild and unrestrained free style. From the red, blue, and white balls, you can feel the atmosphere of breaking through the restraints.

At that time, the ABA used dunk as a gimmick to compete with the NBA. George Gervin, DR.J, and David Thompson were the smash dunk kings at that time,

but after watching this movie, you can think of NBA balls. The development of teams, players and basketball as a whole in the United States, so please be merciful to those who don’t understand basketball.
