alive, mourned and angry and hopeful

"Would you like a glass of orange juice?" "I have a straw here"

"It's just that we are ordinary people, but we have the heart to run wild for you. We are not born with courage and talent, and we only have a little sincerity in the face of the crowd." I somehow remembered this sentence after watching "Three Billboards" talk.

I won't come to interpret the movie. It's boring to read too many movie reviews. I'll make a brief summary for the convenience of the story, but it doesn't detract from the overall viewing experience: this is the story of a punk mother seeking justice for her dead daughter, a sheriff who sees everything, a grumpy but all over again cop. The corresponding three billboards are also more like their three tombstones. The sheriff who commemorates this life commemorates the heroine who fought to the death with the past and the irritability of the policeman who was reborn from ashes.

After 17 years, my favorite is "Manchester by the Sea", which is a movie about the ordinary and humble life of ordinary people (I will post the previous movie review when I travel in a few days) . The same is true of three. In fact, it may still be related to words such as forgiveness and redemption in the end.

But I really like it, and it might even be the best film of my 18 years. Maybe it's my recent experience that resonates with the movie, and I don't know what I'm insisting on.

I firmly believe that the exposure of the case will speed up the police's case handling efficiency, and I believe that as long as you persist, you will gain something like an inspirational movie. Even if the whole town disapproved and was persecuted and targeted, there would actually be a single person who would stand against the loneliness of the whole world.

sheriff's letter to his wife

The sheriff is like a senior in reality, and he speaks earnestly and advises you that you may be like a crucian carp crossing the river, disappearing from everyone. But he just didn't know where to breathe, and he was stubbornly stubborn. And then the stronger and lonelier, the more desperate the more searching. They disagree, but tell you to "go for it" anyway

"I want to apologize for not being able to catch your daughter's killer before I died, it was a lot of pain for me. And it really broke my heart when you said you didn't care because I really did. It's just that there are always cases where no breakthrough can be found...I hope someday Angela's case will come to light, I really hope so. Second, I have to admit that those billboards are a fucking great idea. Although They have nothing to do with my death, but I bet the whole town doesn't think so. But I hope you don't break down because of them, and good luck with this and everything else Good luck up there, and I'll pray for you to catch the killer."

And then I got my first confidence, which meant a lot to me because it was the first support so to speak.

Keep going and give those billboards some fresh flowers every day. Although you have overcome some authority, like those godfathers once advised you not to do it. Some people around you remind you from time to time that you can't do this, but you still insist on it. Occasionally some kind little staff help you, that's enough.

The heroine's character continues to be irritable, and she can't help but swear at the world. It's cool, cool. As if anger became the reason to live and the motivation to keep going.

mourning? Terrible! However, those who deliberately find fault will not end well, and God is fair. The irascible guy who didn't follow police regulations ended up being fired as well. Of course, he is not useless, he can only say that he is a little reckless.

We used to have some festivals, and even happened to burn you when the police station was burned down. Fortunately, you're not a bad apple. We're even, after all, these days I'm a grumpy, fired, reckless asshole doing nothing at home. Everyone is the same~ When you read the letter, I threw Molotov cocktails at you opposite, i am sorry

"I know you already have what it takes to be a good cop, because deep down you're a decent guy. You might think I'm playing around with you, but I really do. Stupid. Of course I know You're a grumpy person, but I think it's all because of your father's death and taking care of your mother alone and all the chores. But as long as you keep those grudges, you'll never be...though I know you'd love to To be... a police detective. You know what qualities you should have? I know you might cringe a little when I say that. But the truth is, to be a police detective you need more - love. Love makes peace, peace makes contemplation. Good luck you and your bad luck is over. Everything will change, I can feel it."

Finally, let me talk about you, Mildred, the name and the hairstyle are just like your character, cool, really. Seriously, you are stubborn and paranoid about your daughter's case. The billboard has been burned, and the five thousand dollars is gone? "But did you know? In fact, if you put up such a big billboard, if he is damaged, the contract says he can get a series of warranties, you know?"

But your TM character is still very stinky!

"Who do you think you are? You're that billboard woman who can't squeeze a smile out of her mouth, who can never say a good word, and who would go to the police station in the middle of the night and set fire to it?!"

But fortunately you heard "anger only causes more anger" this time you finally began to learn to let go and bless.

The burnt ex-cop tells you there might be a clue to a suspect, but then tells you a day later that the man was abroad at the time of the crime.

"Sorry, I let your hope down"

"It's alright, at least I have hope for one day, more than I've had in this period of time"

...

"I know he's not the one you're looking for, but he sure is a rapist i'm sure I know he lives in Ihoda"

"I'll drive there early in the morning"

"Are you sure you want to do that?"

"Not quite sure"

"Not quite sure"

"Let's decide on the road"

Whoops, I'm a little hungry. Eating only one instant noodles a day is really unbearable. I seem to have spoiled a bit too much, and I didn't stop it all at once, I'm sorry. Frankly, I don't know what to say to you.

"After all, it's really hard to stick to this path. It's not something that I can say to encourage you, and you can do it with a few friends. People always say that you can do it if you keep going, but... 'You're not me, You haven't experienced all this, how can you solve your worries!' I wanted to take the postgraduate entrance examination before, and then my friends said, 'Ah, come on. Ah, you can balabala' is easy to say..."

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri quotes

  • Mildred Hayes: [Upon discovering Denise got arrested] Rat bastards.

[Mildred then enters the police station house]

    Mildred Hayes: Hey fuckhead!

    Dixon: What?

Desk Sergeant: Don't say "what", Dixon, when she comes in calling you a fuckhead, and don't you come in here...

    Mildred Hayes: Shut up!

Mildred Hayes: [to Dixon] You, get over here.

Dixon: No! You, get over here.

    Mildred Hayes: Alright.

    Desk Sergeant: What? Don't, Dixon!

    Dixon: What? I'm...

Desk Sergeant: You do not allow a member of the public to call you a fuckhead in the station house!

Dixon: That's what I'm doing, I'm taking care of it in my own way, actually. Now get out of my ass! Mrs. Hayes, have a seat! What is it I can do for you today?

    Mildred Hayes: Where's Denise Watson?

Dixon: Denise Watson's in the clank.

    Mildred Hayes: On what charge?

    Dixon: Possession.

    Mildred Hayes: Of what?

Dixon: Two marijuana cigarettes. Big ones.

Mildred Hayes: When's the bail hearing?

Dixon: I asked the judge not to give her bail on account of her previous marijuana violations and the judge said sure.

    Mildred Hayes: You fucking prick!

Dixon: You do not call an officer of the law a fucking prick in his own station-house, Mrs. Hayes. Or anywhere, actually.

Mildred Hayes: What's with the new attitude, Dixon? Your momma been coaching ya?

Dixon: No. My momma didn't do that.

Dixon: [as Mildred leaves the police station house] Take 'em down, you hear me?

Desk Sergeant: You did good, Dixon.

Dixon: Yeah, I know I did.

  • Dixon: What the hell is this?... Hey, you. What the fuck is this?

Jerome: What the fuck is what?

    Dixon: This! This

    [pointing at the billboard]

    Dixon: .

    Jerome: Advertising, I guess.

    Dixon: Advertising what?

    Jerome: Something obscure?

    Dixon: I'll say. Yeah.

Jerome: Don't I know your face from some place?

Dixon: I don't know, do you?

    Jerome: Yeah. Yeah, I do

    [spits on the ground]

    Jerome: .

Dixon: I could arrest you right now...

    Jerome: For what?

Dixon: For emptying your bucket... That's being bad against the environment laws.

Jerome: Well, before you do that, Officer Dixon, how about you have a look at that first billboard over there? And then we can have ourself a conversation about the motherfucking environment... How about that?
