Good script, good director, good acting. Not surprisingly, this is likely to be the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Screenplay. A typical Martin McDonnell movie, a master of stage play, master of dark humor, and extremely controlling. The whole script is very good, full of tension everywhere, and not only the male protagonist, the female protagonist, the male supporting role, but all the performances are very good, definitely the best group play this year.
Discover the three characteristics of a director
1. The director likes to use dwarf actors very much. The dwarf in "The Killer Has No Holidays" impressed me a lot. I don't know if there is any special meaning to the dwarf, but it is a wonderful stroke in both films.
2. All the protagonists in the director have a natural sense of joy. Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in "The Killer Has No Holidays" (the Chinese translation is really ruining the film), and Cole in "Seven Neuropathies". Lin and Sam, Gleason in "Coast Guard", and Sam in this film, the director really likes actors with a sense of joy.
3. The protagonist in each movie has a certain racism, which is the case in the 4 movies mentioned above. Maybe this is what the director wants to convey, deep down, we are all racist.
