Watched this movie early on, but was just willing to write something down now. Originally, I didn't want to watch it at all, but, I didn't spend money, and I didn't dare to say anything else. Because I knew early on that it was a war movie, it wasn't that it didn't respect history or anything, but that in the case of war, people would inevitably kill people, and the dead would definitely be bloody and disgusting.
Does this movie have any disgusting and scary scenes? There are, and there are many, and there are also some shocking scenes that make me hate it very much. However, I am willing to write something for this movie.
What's the first thing that comes to mind about war? A man with blood all over his face, gauze wrapped around his head, with a terrifying expression, was holding a long gun and trying to kill the enemy in front. Such a picture, even if this person is revenge, in the war, he will not get rid of the sin of the murderer. In any case, murder is wrong, and no reason can be forgiven.
Because every life deserves to be respected!
I have a hard time connecting the respect for life with the brutal war scenes. But this movie does it without feeling unacceptable.
This movie is about medics. Looking at the war from the perspective of a medic who saves the dead and heals the wounded, not only let everyone see the cruel side of the war, but also let us refocus on the identity we have been neglecting, the medic.
War requires not only the generals who control the deployment, the soldiers who charge into the front, but also the medics who silently treat behind them.
War is cruel, and the battlefield is ever-changing. No one knows when something will happen to him. He may be chatting and laughing one second before, and then he will be killed the next second. Soldiers shoulder the mission of defending their homes, but vulnerable individuals are always so small in the face of death. People who can be fearless in peacetime may be too scared to stand on the battlefield. Who is not afraid of death? Who doesn't want to live?
But the medic is exactly this kind of identity, pulling the soldiers back from the gate of hell one by one. Originally felt weak, but needed to stand up at a critical moment. The strong and violent comrades in the past tried to cry for help when they were dying. Everyone is so vulnerable in the face of death, but at this time, the medics need to stand up and fight against death immediately.
The enemy of the soldier is human, and the enemy of the medic is the god of death. In the movie, it is precisely because of the support of the medic to fight against the god of death that the soldier gets rid of the fear of death and dares to climb the cruel Hacksaw Mountain again.
In addition to respect for life, the film also talks about another thing, faith.
Faith may have been just the standard you set for yourself, but this is really long. Worthy of respect, it is precisely because of this persistence. Just like a habit, something a person can stick to for 21 days in a row becomes a habit. The same is true for beliefs, no matter what beliefs it is, even if everyone laughs at it at first, as long as you persevere and let everyone see your perseverance, you will naturally be respected by everyone, and everyone will be full of awe for such perseverance.
Last but not least, this is a movie based on real events, not fake.
We are all willing to be in awe of life, and we all respect everyone's persistence.
