Episode II, Metaphors of Symbols

Unlike many people, I think the second episode was very realistic.
The various symbols in the film are metaphors for various phenomena in our current society.

1. Everyone in the film is in an era of extreme entertainment.
Ordinary people make money very slowly (riding a bicycle is used in the film to suggest this).
This satirizes social reality.

2. You have to pay if you don’t watch advertisements (sarcasm today’s free media, such as the Internet, TV, etc., as long as it is free, you must be forced to be advertised)

3. Everyone wants to be an entertainment star (in the film to reach People show to express), the moral standard is no longer the standard of social judgment, replaced by fame and fortune, even shooting AV is extremely glorious, once again satirizing our society.

4. The cynicism of the protagonist sees through the essence and truth of society, but is eventually captured by entertainment fame and fortune, and becomes an entertainment method for entertaining the public. Originally wanting to be rebellious and wanting to revolutionize, the rebellious revolution has finally become a new kind of entertainment. entertainment (anti-entertainment has become a new form of entertainment). Irony at its peak.

A thoughtful film that satirizes the whole society, but the final fate of this film is so similar to that of the protagonist.

  • Kenny: [sobbing] They filmed me.

    Hector: Filmed you...

    Kenny: Through my computer camera.

    Hector: What, like, filmed you?

Kenny: Yeah, like, you know, doing it.

    Hector: Like sex?

Kenny: No. Like, you... you know.

Hector: Jerking off. Jerking off to porn or something? Well, everyone does that. The fucking pope probably does that.
