Last week, because I saw the release of [A Quiet Place II] on the video platform, I wanted to make up for the first film that was popular on Douyin before. After watching it, I personally felt that the atmosphere was more than the logic.
Let’s talk about what appeals to me first. The title begins with a tense atmosphere. Through the interludes of flashbacks, street scenes and various news, the disasters that human beings are suffering from are highlighted. The immersive movie made me and the protagonist have to slow down our breathing, for fear of making a little noise to attract monsters.
The tone of the film, the soundtrack, and the acting of the protagonist all add to my experience of watching the film. In fact, the whole movie scene is very beautiful. After the little girl in the movie climbs the tower, the idyllic scenery of the whole village can be seen, and it also gives people a feeling of peace and comfort. But thinking about the life-and-death threats they are encountering, it's really sad.
But the logic of the whole movie is really flawed. A few things that I don't understand in particular:
1. Why do the female protagonists have to give birth to children, knowing that the monster will be attracted by the sound, but also risking being destroyed by the group to do this thing, I don’t know if she was pregnant before the monster ravaged, or because she lost it. One child, another one to make up for it?
2. Did I ever think that the little girl in the film was adopted? Her younger brother has died because of her mistake, and of course her parents have an unshirkable responsibility. She can still leave her pregnant mother alone at home because of her emotional problems. Can you use other more reasonable plots to promote the development of the plot?
3. The monster is not so strong. In the last episode of the film where the two young protagonists and the monster are in a stalemate in the car, it can be seen that the monster is not a big killer in the world. The ordinary iron car can support it for a while, then the armored car of the army Woolen cloth? Or cannonballs? Or, as some netizens speculate, is this monster hunting just a pet dog of a powerful alien?
Overall, the immersion of the whole movie is still very strong, and the form of expression is also very novel. It is very likely that there will be a third part after watching the ending of the second part. I hope some of the previous questions can be answered.
Some small suggestions: ignoring those obvious bugs while watching can get you into the play faster, otherwise you'll just be left with the feeling of losing your mind.
