"I don't want to be a rock star, I want to be a legend"

Before watching this movie, I only heard about queen and knew it was a group, but as for who their group was and what songs they had, I didn't know anything about it.

When "Bohemian Rhapsody" came out, it caused a wave of enthusiasm. The circle of friends can always swipe this song, and I saw many friends recommending this movie, so I added it to the "want to watch" list.

I happened to swipe it today, and I just had time, so I watched this movie, the stamina is very strong!

I am now listening to their songs and writing this review.

---------------------------Dividing line--------------------

This movie is based on the Queen band. It is not a documentary. After reading some materials, although the casting, costumes, performances and many other aspects are highly reductive, in order to match the length of the film review and the narrative of the story, Changes have been made to the timeline and some details.

Because I don't know Queen, let alone freddie mercury, the shock of the whole film based on true stories is far greater than those so-called flaws.

This film mainly tells about the life of the lead singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury, starting from his work as a porter at the airport, how to join the band, why it was named queen, how to create one after another amazing work, and how to complete it. Self-redemption, the perfect reproduction of the final live aids concert, pushed the whole film to a climax.

Share some snippets that impressed me.

1. The process of the whole band polishing songs together in the recording studio is very similar to when we stayed up all night to make a business plan together in our student days. Although we don’t know what the outcome will be, the process is simply wonderful. From the very beginning, they made the first chapter album and tried various ways to create sounds, such as putting coins on the drum surface to play drums, recording the swinging sound, and a lot of whimsical music experiments; Later, I produced the six-minute "Bohemian Rhapsody", recording the same high pitch over and over again, and achieving body sound effects through the stacking of sounds.

Although there is not much space to describe this meal in the film, the joy of making music together can be conveyed through the screen, especially when the music they created sounds, there is no reason not to believe in that kind of love and paranoia.

2. The story line of Freddie and Mary.

In the movie, when they met Wei Wei, they fell in love at first sight in a corridor before freddie joined the band, and the two trusted and supported each other. In Freddie's mind, getting along with Mary was as important as singing, so he proposed to Mary. This short story, from other sources, may be slightly different from reality. In reality, Freddie sent Mary a gift on a Christmas day. Inside the big box was another box, and the inside of the box was still a box. I opened many boxes, and the innermost small box contained a jade ring. But it doesn't hurt, and it doesn't affect the fact that Mary is a very important person to Freddie on and off the show.

Later, Mary noticed the problem between the two people, Freddie and Mary confessed that "he is gay", Mary said she was sad, but even more sad that it was not his fault. God, Mary is so good too! This movie is still quite distressing.

Later, Freddie became more and more popular and lived in a big house opposite Mary, but he became more and more lonely. At this time, he would remember to call Mary and ask her to go to the window. He pulled the wire of the lamp and turned it on and off, as if saying "I miss you". Mary was in front of the window. Also turned on the lights in response to this lonely friend. But Mary has her own life, and Freddie can only rely on crazy parties to fill the void in her heart.

In the movie, Mary is also a turning point for Freddie to complete his self-redemption in the later period. It is said that in reality, after freddie died, he left most of his estate to Mary, and asked Mary to bury him without telling anyone else. Such friendship is the kind of trust that surpasses love and friendship.

3. Reconciliation between Freddie and his father. Father always taught Freddie to "good thoughts, good words, good deeds", young Freddie dismissed it, but in the end he went to the live aids concert and met with his father, what he wanted to do was "good thoughts" his father said , good words, good deeds", The Great Reconciliation. I guess there is a certain artistic handling of this, but there will be incomprehensions in everyone, and the reconciliation reached in the end is the suffering and test that everyone who has been tasked with will endure.

4. I have to mention the most burning live aids concert in the whole film. I burst into tears several times. The lyrics of "Bohemian Rhapsody" correspond surprisingly well to Freddie's life. It is very burning, and I also feel that there has not been such a large-scale live scene for a long time after the epidemic. Later, I went to see the original live aids and was amazed at the restoration of the movie. I would also like to thank the male protagonist for his outstanding performance.

5. The rest

I still really like some of the expressions in the movie. For example, when they held a global tour, I don’t know what kind of artistic technique this is, but I like it very much.

There is also a paragraph, Freddie faced reporters with crazy questions, the shooting scene was absolutely perfect, and the sense of oppression came over him.

There are also many scenes that pay tribute to the classics. Due to ignorance, many of them were only found out after reading some materials later, so they didn't make a move.

About Freddie and his true love Jim, there is not much space in the movie, but in reality, Jim is the one who accompanies Freddie through the final journey of his life.

There are also a lot of people complaining that as a movie, the previous story is too poorly narrated, like a running account, and it is all supported by the songs of Queen.

But as an ordinary audience, through one step movie, I got to know a legendary band and a crazy lead singer, which is very worthwhile.

Everyone go listen to Queen, you must have heard their song, you just didn't know it was their song.

When I was a kid, everyone praised Freddie for his singing skills and said he might become a rock star.

He said, "I won't be a rock star. I will be a legend."

Yes. you did it.
