Do you love rock and roll?

Do you know Queen?

Even if the answer to these two questions is No, then you must have heard the song "We Will Rock You". Its uniform, majestic and powerful rhythm seems to be shouted by thousands of people at some point. woke you up.

If you're a football fan, you'll also sing another uplifting "We Are The Champions," a song the football world has heard and sung for years.

Both of these rock songs are legends in the rock world—Queen's classics.

The movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" tells the story of Queen. At the 91st Academy Awards, "Bohemian Rhapsody" won four awards for Best Actor, Best Editing, Best Sound Effects, and Best Sound Editing.

As a biographical film of Queen, "Bohemian Rhapsody" mainly tells the legendary life of the band's lead singer Freddie Mercury, as well as his indomitable life against the world and against himself.

I participated in the screening event of Lily Zhou, and I had the honor to watch "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the cinema in advance, and felt the power of rock and roll.

When the actor Freddie Mercury first appeared, he was just an airport porter. As a boy of Indian descent, he seemed a little out of place in the UK, and his buck teeth made him a little shy and inferior. He silently observed the members of the Queen band in the bar, telling their origins as soon as he opened his mouth, and when his offer was rejected because of his teeth, he expressed his pride with a charming singing voice.

It was also during this time that Freddie met a girl, Mary, who knew him so well, understood him, and accompanied him through the dark years before he became famous. He proposed to Mary in a dimly lit room, and he wrote a love song "Love of my life" for her.

Mary is the love of Freddy's life, he wants to spend his life with Mary, but he can't get rid of his fate of being gay.

After Freddie came out, Mary remained his refuge. In the movie, there is a small plot where Freddy and Mary play a small game of turning on and off the lamp across the street to express their love and unease.

When he was at his lowest and most closed, Mary, who was far away, had nightmares and took a long car to visit him. In the heavy rain, she said to the scared Freddy, "No matter what, there are many people who love you. Me, Brian, Deacon, Roger, we all love you." Mary's visit also brought Freddy out of the slump and caught up with the most important performance of his life.

Freddy and Mary remind me of Turing and Joan in the movie "The Imitation Game", two people who cherish each other, but because of Turing's sexuality, they can't accompany each other for a lifetime. At the end of the film, Joan tells Turing, who is struggling and mired in self-doubt: "Ordinary people can't do this. This morning, I was on a train, passing through a city that survived because of you. I work. The content of the research, the entire field of scientific exploration, exists because of you. The world is a better place because you are not ordinary people.”

Between Freddy and Mary, there are deeper feelings and ties than Turing and Joan. At the last moment of his life, Freddy left his mansion, half of his inheritance and song copyright to Mary instead of himself. The fiancé also gave her his ashes and asked her to bury them in a place no one knew about. "You were supposed to be my wife," he wrote in his will.

The title of the film "Bohemian Rhapsody" comes from the song of the same name that Queen spent a long time and painstakingly creating.

This is a rock song that transcends other pieces. It has a complex structure, cleverly blending classical opera, folk, loud metal and multi-voice chorus, full of confusion and confusion of stream of consciousness, as if an unwilling to wake up dream. This is incredible in pop music.

This is a rhapsody written by Freddy to himself. He condenses all those suffering and struggles that he can't look directly into his singing, the divided self, the painful desire, and the despair of not being able to love.

However, the producers and the audience couldn't understand the song. After the single was released, the response was mediocre, and there were even many negative comments. Such as "the song is too long, the title and lyrics are incomprehensible", "adding elements of classical opera, it is simply against pop music", "contrived single, obscure and meaningless" and so on.

Just like the great fugue created by Beethoven in his later years, it was considered ugly, abrupt, and discordant when it first came out, and no one could understand the creator's unique expression and hoarse cry.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" was really accepted and loved by the world after the "Save Lives" concert. Queen sang songs such as "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Are The Champions" to the shouts of a global audience of 1.5 billion.

As a biographical film, director Brian Singer deliberately arranged a full 20 minutes of time to recreate the 1985 performance with great colors. The "Save Lives" concert aims to raise funds for the famine in Ethiopia. Each performer, the performance time is 20 minutes. Among them are the famous Michael Jackson, Madonna, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan, U2 and so on.

The concert was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London and Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, and the 16-hour benefit was broadcast live to the world via satellite. The concert starts when the sun rises in the early morning and continues until the night sky is full of shining stars. On this day, the whole world is filled with selfless feelings. This is one of the greatest concerts in human history.

In the last 20 minutes, we re-acquainted with this androgynous legendary musician Freddie, his flamboyant, arrogant, provocative and arrogant typhoon that made people uncomfortable in the past, in these 20 minutes, with him The vitality is integrated into one, smooth and enthusiastic, giving life a feeling of admiration.

These last twenty minutes are almost the swan song of his life. Freddy, wearing a white vest and a mustache, sings wildly. The singing has everything he has, the pain he feels, the brokenness he bears, he The struggles he experienced, and his love and despair for the world.

It has been said that the power of a song is judged by the emotion it evokes in the listener's heart. Rock gave people a way to shout out their repressed feelings, the same strong feelings as Freddie.

The movie is over, and time will always stay at the peak of the concert. In people's memory, it is Queen's rock that stirs the soul, fresh and hot, as if flowing into the blood of every audience.
