New gadgets vs old gadgets

After watching 007 SKYFALL, the feeling is as follows: This is a movie in which an old British woman (Mrs. M) leads an old British man (James Bond) to study the relationship between new things and old things. New stuff, Mr. Q, computer, radio. Old stuff, shotguns, old estates, old-fashioned razors, daggers. The result of the study is that you want to play with new things, not old ones. On the whole, the whole drama has no creativity, and it all depends on the basics, and the gas will be exhausted.
Under the gorgeous action scenes, the British gentleman's clothing, the British old man's style and the cool and handsome appearance of the special agent, it is difficult to hide the paleness of the plot and the single value. The rhythm of the plot is extremely slow, and there are no turns. It is nothing more than a villain who wants to destroy a decent, and finally the decent wins by luck. In terms of values, the logic of a single villain and a logic of a single patriotic struggle, and finally get a politically correct ending, but there is no refinement and sublimation of these two opposing values.

Skyfall quotes

  • Raoul Silva: If you wanted, you could pick your own secret missions. As I do. Name it, name it. Destabilize a multinational by manipulating stocks. Bip. Easy. Interrupt transmissions from a spy satellite over Kabul... done. Hmm. Rig an election in Uganda. All to the highest bidder.

James Bond: Or a gas explosion in London.

Raoul Silva: Mm-hm. Just point and click.

James Bond: Well, everybody needs a hobby.

    Raoul Silva: So what's yours?

    James Bond: Resurrection.

  • James Bond: [a mirror on Land Rover's right door falls] That's all right. You weren't using it.

Eve: [makes left mirror fall] I wasn't using that one, either.
