In recent days, many classic movies have been re-screened, but only "Life is Beautiful" has been selected. There is no other reason, just because I didn't like it after watching it, I really want to know if I have changed.
After I walked out of the theater after watching it, although the result was still the same, my understanding of the movie itself has indeed changed, and my feelings have become much more complicated.
When I read "Life is Beautiful", I was reading Russian literature and was deeply shocked by the suffering of the Russian people. In my opinion, when writing about suffering, we must first face the suffering and turn the deep suffering into fertile sustenance, in order to create the best works. In this film, Bernini lightly shows the suffering of the Jews, but the lightness is light, and the weight that should be there is completely removed. In fact, the film itself is a fairy tale, relying on the purification of reality to give the male protagonist highlights. Thinking about it carefully, the gentleness of the male protagonist is completely unstoppable in that cruel world. Every indulgence and every romance of the male protagonist will result in completely different results in a realistic context. The gentleness and kindness of the male protagonist will be easily crushed in the hell years of human civilization. In fact, every father is not a superhero, and no one can stop the engraving of the times.
However, in this viewing process, although my core point of view has not changed, the perception is more complicated. The first is that the gentleness, optimism, and open-mindedness of the male protagonist, the father, are valuable to the individual itself, especially in today's era. From my own point of view, as a person who is anxious on a daily basis, and therefore always pushes himself, the qualities displayed by this father are very worthy of learning for me personally. This allows me to let go of myself and others, and it does have a healing effect. Another point is that when I watched it before, I always thought that the father was protecting the son, but now I look at it again, and after discovering the details of my grandmother, it can be seen that the son's observation ability is very keen. Therefore, the reason why the son cooperates with the father's game is that the son wants to comfort the father. From a certain point of view, the son also gave his father a beautiful life.
By the way, "Good morning, Princess" is of course very gentle, is it really a man to suck people's legs when you see it? (From today's point of view, the understanding of women in that era was really superficial.)
Finally, whether you like "Life is Beautiful" or not, I recommend you to watch this movie. After all, it is a top-ranking movie. Unless you are as cunning as me, you should be satisfied.
