From a young age, our parents taught us to be positive, optimistic and strong. As it should be, "Lele" has always been the leader of the center of the mind, guiding us to face all kinds of life.
In this way, Riley grew up under the care of her parents, skiing together, participating in competitions together, and performing the Monkey Show together at home.
There are family members, friends, little monsters in fantasy, and all kinds of fantasy toys to help him realize his dreams. It is a place that carries all the happiness since Riley was born, sealing Riley in a happy cage.
But one day, because of the move, Riley had to be taken out of this sweet port. At the age of 12, she already has all the emotions that a normal person has, and even knows how to hide it. So she was so lost in her new place and missed her past circles, but in order to prevent her parents from arguing, and to make the family look like a positive atmosphere, she concealed all her emotions and tried not to touch her. Those good memories of the past, so as not to be sad (in the movie, this part shows everything with Lele leading the console, and let Sadness stay in a circle, don't move away, don't touch those core memory balls). But it is a very labor-intensive thing to cover up after all, how long can she support at 12 years old? So Lele "lost and disappeared". In this way, Riley lost his happiness in the new environment, and the shadow of happiness, "sad". Only anger, disgust, and fear are these auxiliary emotions. None of them can become the dominant emotion, and the rush to coax them will only make Riley's mind cluttered, sensitive, irritable, and unclear.
The lost "Lele" is actively hovering in the "memory ball ocean", trying various ways to return to the "brain center", making Riley happy. However, in the days when she and sadness were away, the island of friends, the island of honesty, the island of family, and the island of interest collapsed one after another, and the way back to the brain center was constantly blocked. Yes, the happiness that has been lost, how can it be so easy to find again?
On the way back, there was BingBang, an enthusiastic friend. He leads the way as he misses the happy moments of the past and Riley. When you need to complete difficult jumps, you sacrifice yourself to achieve happiness. That sacrifice meant that he would be gone forever, and that Riley would never think of it again. The optimist "Lele" was finally moved by this sacrifice. She felt "sad", and thus felt the power of "sad". It dawned on me that Riley needed more than happiness, she also needed sadness, and she needed to express her sadness instead of just covering it up.
Lele took sadness's hand and when they manipulated the emotional console together, Riley finally cried. She ran to her parents, removed her disguise, and told tears of all the unhappiness during this time. The family has reconciled so far, and Riley has gradually found herself, becoming a girl who is happy, sad, angry and fearful, and looks at everything with rainbow colors. This is growth.
Being strong and smiling is welcome, but there is no rule that we should always be strong and happy.
If pretending to be happy is so tiring, it is better to be really sad!
