This "Reversing the Future" combines the heroes of the first three episodes with the first battle when they were young through a two-line narrative. However, the background of this story does not seem to be the follow-up of the third episode, but Hugh Jackman goes back to that past point in time, also in the context of the First World War - a few years after the Cuban Missile Crisis. I'm not a fan of comics, I don't know the entire history of the X-Men, but from the first X-Men to the latest one, many, many previous problems are indeed explained in this part, but more problems are Appeared. Where did Magneto's team at the end of the first battle go? Why is his relationship with Mystique so rigid? The X in X-men seems to be an unknown symbol in mathematics. There are too many unknowns and mysteries in this series, and the source of these unknowns is the weak logic and details in the film.
Of course, in addition to the combination of the old and the new, another feature of this movie is that the old friend of the fans, Brian Singer, is back, but for this series, this is a good thing and a bad thing. The first two "X-Men" films by Bryan Singer showed us the two main contradictions in this series - the contradiction between humans and mutants, and the contradiction between Professor X's team and Magneto's team. And that is, his movies have made many viewers who have not read the comics fall in love with the X-Men, which has become the classic and standard of the X-Men series. However, in recent years, his films have been a bit bad, and after "Superman Returns", his film reputation has continued to slump. His ability to control the plot has long been inferior to that of him who was a fledgling during the "Urban Suspects" period. This movie, as the biggest one in "X-Men", is intertwined with the past and the present, as well as with two major contradictions. However, under his guidance, it seems a bit chaotic, and many things are unclear. In addition, the coolness and vitality that Matthew Vaughn showed in "First War", in this film, only the Quicksilver teasing the police is left, and other moments, it presents a kind of tension and seriousness.
Of course, I know that a film like "X-Men" focuses on visual effects. As the "X-Men" with the most characters and the biggest scene, in this film, all the superheroes have indeed opened their plug-ins. Magneto is not playing the Golden Gate Bridge. When he lifts it lightly, the stadium will fly into the sky. Professor X's wisdom no longer only affects people in the same time and space, he even affects his young self in different time and space. In addition, the 3D effect of the film can be compared with the 3D masterpiece "Prometheus".
All in all, Days of Future Past is not a movie with a clear plot, but there's no denying that X-Men is a great comic indeed. Its rich historical concepts and life philosophies have made Bryan Singer, who does not like comics, embark on a successful comic film director, and has also made many fans crazy for it. As an audience, let us look forward to the arrival of "Apocalypse", and how will the relationship between the enemy (base) and me (friend) of the two men, Professor X and Magneto, develop in the future?
