"Gene Mutation" Reminiscent of "X-Men"

The famous British writer TH White wrote a legendary classic "Once and Future King", this book was also mentioned in "X-Men", the Chinese name is translated as "Once and Future King" ”.

So what kind of changes do human beings have to make to become the future king?

Maybe you will find the answer in “X-Men”:

mutation is the key to evolution, it allows us to evolve from a single cell to the master process
of the universe
Very long, going through tens of millions of years
but every hundreds of thousands of years there will be a mutation cycle...

"Mutants, Since the discovery of their existence, they have been regarded with fear, suspicion, often hatred. Across the planet debate rages. Are mutants the next link in the evolutionary chain? Or simply a new species of humanity, fighting for their share of the world? Either way, it is an historical fact sharing the world has never been humanity's defining attribute."

American geneticist RB Goldschmidt believes that normal natural selection can only act on genes within the range of species to produce small evolutionary changes, that is, small evolution; and the evolution from one species to another species Steps require another way of evolution, the grand evolution. He believed that grand evolution was achieved through what he assumed was systematic mutation (inherited mutation involving the entire genome). In this way, a new species or even a new genus or family can be produced at once. Scientists have been studying ways to treat cancer by destroying telomerase activity through genetic mutations, and this theory may become a reality in the near future.

One of the characteristics of genetic mutations is: whether it is eukaryotic or prokaryotic mutation , and no matter what type of mutation it is, it has the common characteristics of randomness, rarity and reversibility.

For humans, genetic mutation can be beneficial or harmful. The key lies in how humans use this correctly.

There are huge uncertain factors about what the future of human beings will look like. No one can make accurate predictions based on current science and technology, but I believe that history will give an answer sooner or later, let us wait and see .

Eric Lensherr: I still don't know why *I'm* here. Couldn't you just make them say yes?

Prof. Charles Xavier: Yes, I could, but it's not my way. And I would expect you, of all people would understand my feelings about the misuse of power.

Eric Lensherr: Ah, "power corrupts" and all that. Yes, I know, Charles. When are you going to stop lecturing me?

Prof. Charles Xavier: When you start listening. And you're here because I need you.

  • Dr. Hank McCoy: He's going for the boy!

Kitty Pryde: Not if I get there first!
