Before watching it, various voices said that "Plus 4" is not good-looking. In fact, I also admit that most of the movie is a bit dragged and underwhelming. There are two main flaws. First, the plot is not enough, which makes the movie unable to attract people's attention and attention for a long time. Because the audience's attention is limited, as a blockbuster, as a blockbuster with action, scenes, and pictures as its big selling points, it is even more familiar. If you only have a flash point every half an hour to grab the audience's heart, it must be weaker than a flash point every 10 minutes to grab the audience's attention. Therefore, the procrastination is not actually the fault of the plot, but in terms of rhythm and plot arrangement, it is slightly weaker than those exciting blockbusters, so it will give people a feeling of procrastination and not exciting enough. The second flaw is that some of the storylines are slightly inadequate. I don't remember if Blackbeard appeared in the first few movies. So when Blackbeard came out, I didn't even understand how powerful he was.
but. Historical experience tells us that in all article sentences, the "but" is always the most important.
At the end of the movie, Uncle Sailor and Jack had a conversation on an island like this. When the subtitle music came out at the end, I suddenly felt a sense of enlightenment. Maybe "Plus 4" is not the most exciting action-adventure blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, but it is the best Captain Jack image-building film. The reason why Jack participated in all this was the "spring of immortality" and the temptation of immortality, and it was for this reason that such a journey began. Or "being involved" might be more appropriate. But at the end, as Uncle Sailor said, Jack, why don't you drink it yourself when you have the silver cup, the mermaid tears, and the fountain of death. Drink it and you will live forever. Jack said, immortality is not what I want, it is more important to live in the present. So Jack gave the chance of immortality to the woman he loved and saved the woman he loved. But at the same time, she was left alone on the island.
In this film, the word "faith" appears many times, or it can be said to be the soul and primary meaning of the film. The Spanish royal family spared no effort to search for the fountain of immortality and destroy it, in order to maintain the purity of God's belief and prove that only God is the subject that determines the fate of mankind, and no one else has such a right. Blackbeard is a complete egocentric, his highest belief is himself, and he can let his daughter die for his life. And what about our dear Captain Jack? Jack does everything he does, not to gain all the money in the world to become a top man, nor to gain worldly recognition and become a powerful person (such as the pirate king) admired by all people, nor to gain something that everyone envies , such as an immortal body. It can be said that after so many movies, what I just said seems to be the reason and purpose of Jack's departure, but it is far from his ultimate goal. Jack's ultimate goal is not wealth, not power, but "freedom", "adventure" and "always on the road". Jack's highest beliefs are "freedom" and "adventure". This is the spirit of Jack.
At this point, I finally understand where "Pirates of the Caribbean" brings us excitement and excitement. It will never be a thrilling action scene, nor a beautiful scene, but Jack's spirit and passion. Belief. "Life is precious, and love is more expensive. If it's for freedom, both can be thrown away." Isn't that what Jack is talking about?
So I also understand that if this movie is made into a personal legendary movie of "Captain Jack", then in terms of personal image rendering and plot compactness, it may be a more exciting movie. But "Pirates of the Caribbean" is not made like this, it has bigger ambitions, it is a blockbuster, so it has to ensure the full use of various blockbuster elements and the setting of various selling points, so some things are covered up. Therefore, this has become an inherent contradiction within the "Plus" series itself. When there are a lot of things you want to talk about, some things may not be good enough to talk about.
So these flaws or inherent contradictions do not hinder my love for "Pirates of the Caribbean". Because of Jack, because of Johnny Depp. So, let's talk, dear Depp, I'll watch a few of the few you make.
