Code is cold, but human heart is not

The movie doesn't have many scene transitions or flashy VFX, but I personally think it's a more enjoyable movie than Inception. In addition to the design of the structure and the suspense, what moves me more is the relationship between people in the film and the expression of the meaning of life. The structure of the film is easy to understand but not superficial, and I don't want to say much about it. After all, the understanding of the structure of the film belongs to everyone's happiness, and there is no need to break this enjoyment.

This movie can easily be compared to Inception. The reason I like this movie more is that the characters are more emotional. In the beginning, the protagonist Stevens, like other people outside the source code, just treats the world formed by this program as a virtual environment. So Stevens acted rudely to the passengers in the car without any scruples, beat suspected passengers, rummaged through other people's travel bags, and snatched other people's mobile phones, because everyone thought that in this world with only eight minutes, These moves will have no impact.

Then Stevens learned that he had died, which was a turning point in his emotions. He found that his existence was no longer "real", so he also doubted whether the source code world was just virtual, because the world in the source code was no different from the real world. And the people in the source code are also living people, not just afterimages of memory as Goodwin said. So he decided to save the passengers, save Cristina, even if only in the source code. So he begged Goodwin to send him back to the source code, then turn off the device and complete his mission.

Goodwin is an emotionally ambivalent character, a soldier who carries out orders on the one hand, and an emotional woman on the other. She should have known Stevens long ago. Judging from the dialogue at the beginning of the film, it is likely that the source code has not been run for the first time. The beginning of the film may have started after the last memory was cleared, so Goodwin is already familiar with Stevens. , she knew very well how cruel this kind of task was, her pity for Stevens was beyond words, and she had been encouraging Stevens, but at the same time she had to carry out the order, the order of the cold-blooded Doctor Rutledge.

Rutledge is opposite to Goodwin. He is as ruthless as his program. He uses source code and Stevens only as tools. Even the recording of Stevens' father is used as a response tool every time this happens. , whenever Stevens knew he was dead, used the recording to keep him on his mission, without any regard for Stevens as a conscious individual.

Cristina is also a very interesting character, she is Stevens' girlfriend in the source code world. She is beautiful, kind, and cheerful, and it is she who makes Stevens feel the beauty and authenticity of the source code world, and Stevens later decided to return to the source code world to a large extent because of her. She's from the source code world and doesn't know what happened to his boyfriend Sean, but she undoubtedly prefers Sean's personality as Stevens.

As for why Stevens can live in the source code world that many people are interested in, I won't say much. I always think that things like this are good to keep your own understanding, and you don't need to listen to other people's arguments. It is enough to bring people to think, and this kind of thinking is never right or wrong.
