The film was glowing with a faint white light (I thought it was a version issue at the beginning). This layer of white light made the picture hazy, which made me think I was watching a movie more than ten years ago. With the retro modeling of the characters, comic-style robots and gorgeous scenes, I had the illusion of being in a dreamland.
When I first saw the name of the movie, I associate Sky Captain with Hayao Miyazaki's work. There are many shadows of Hayao Miyazaki in the movie, which reminds me of "Castle in the Sky" and "Moving Castle"...
Some people say that the special effects of the movie are too bad, but I think the special effects are just right! If a certain part of the special effects is too real, it will lose the taste of the movie.
However, the slight fly in the ointment is that the movie is a bit top-heavy. The opening scene is so cool!
PS: I almost didn't recognize Angelina Jolie
