Honestly, this is the worst sci-fi movie I've seen this year. There are many simple flaws in this movie,
and the rhythm of the whole story is also chaotic. No point.
The most important thing is that the texture of this film is weak.
The whole film feels like a war between a dozen people and a machine, without the grand atmosphere of confronting the world.
The director invested all the money in the mechanical setting and environmental shooting, but ignored the foreshadowing and contrast of the overall grand atmosphere.
Why "The Lord of the Rings", "Star Wars" and "Avatar" can become classics because they know how to create an atmosphere.
Sometimes the story doesn't need to be complicated, as long as the story is told clearly and the rhythm of the story is well controlled, the
important thing is to bring out the atmosphere and texture of the story.
Here I have to mention some of the works of Haruki Murakami. Many stories are not complicated,
he is just good at depicting the texture of the times and the atmosphere of the scene. As he said, the story doesn't need to be complicated, let him develop freely.
Never underestimate the power of the story itself.
One of the keys to a good film is to tell a story clearly, and then work hard to create the atmosphere and worldview of the story!
