Soundtrack worth ranting

I think it's a good story without reading the original. Gatsby is like every young man dreaming of a beautiful dream in the United States in the bubble era - the difference is that he believes in his own from the beginning to the end. The dream will come true. In fact, he is only one step away from making his dream come true - a purely beautiful dream lost to his own greed, Daisy's cowardice and selfishness. It's a beautiful but sad story, but it's closer to reality, and I guess that's what this movie is about.
In the first half of the movie, the premise before Gatsby's appearance was a bit too long, but Gatsby's performance after his appearance did not meet the audience's expectation of being held up by those rich and colorful foreshadowing. The rhythm of the second half of the story is more reasonable and can grab the audience's attention. Although the final ending is expected, it is also a good turning point.
The flaw lies in the soundtrack of this film, which can be said to be a major failure. In addition to the literary and sad song at the end of the film, the background music interspersed in the film can be summed up as "what the fuck". In such an old school era, all parties were East Coast rap and electronic music. . . . . . Director, I really thank you for not using West Coast gang rap and Dubstep for the soundtrack.
Overall, the story is good, the shooting is good, there are some minor flaws but the viewing is quite high.

The Great Gatsby quotes

  • Jay Gatsby: It's so sad, because it's so hard to make her understand. It's so hard to make her understand. I've gotten all these things for her. I've gotten all these things for her and now she just... she just wants to run away.

  • Nick Carraway: Jay! They're a rotten crowd. You're worth the whole damn bunch put together.

Nick Carraway: [Voice-over] I was always glad I said that. It was the only compliment I ever paid him.
