First of all, I'm not a fan of the original. This movie can be said to have brought me a huge shock. Few movies are longer than three hours, and I've seen all of them, but Zack Snyder's Justice League is so long, and when I watched it with unease, I found three hours wasn't enough. This is a noir R-rated movie, completely different from previous superhero blockbusters. In the past, superhero blockbusters were all hilarious to save the world, but at most the heroes were in crisis. And this "Watchmen" is about heroes facing crisis and heroic humanity.
In everyone's impression, the villains must be bad people, right? But the villain in Watchmen turned out to be the heroic Pharaoh. It is also correct to think about what he did from another angle. Wouldn't it be correct to kill hundreds of thousands of people to prevent a nuclear war from breaking out? Dr. Manhattan can be said to be quite great, making all people misunderstand themselves to prevent the outbreak of nuclear war, no hero can do that. I feel sorry for Rorschach's death. He is my favorite hero after all.
In short, Watchmen is as much a superhero movie as the Dark Knight can go down in history. Zack Snyder is actually a great director, I hope he doesn't direct films like Batman v Superman in the future. The height of Watchmen is probably something that Marvel movies will never reach.
