Dick is my latest favorite sci-fi writer, and Spielberg is my latest favorite director
I watched the movie after reading the original book. To tell the truth, many film and television works adapted from novels will be somewhat different from the original, which will cause some book fans to be dissatisfied, but this is the difference between the presentation of movies and novels. After all, it is still a commercial production, and script adaptation, cost output, shooting time, audience awareness, etc. need to be considered. Moreover, Minority Report is selected from one of the short stories of the novel of the same name. To make the short story into a 145-minute movie, the details must be processed during the period. The three screenwriters worked together, and Dick himself participated in it, so I think it is in the original book. It is understandable to change and fill in the storyline within the framework. The movie "The Wandering Earth" also differs from the original content, and Liu Cixin, who produced the script, did not intervene, and let the screenwriters make drastic changes. In fact, the entire film only took the tip of the iceberg of the original content, and it can almost be said to be a re-created work based on a point in the book.
The famous film critic Andre Bazin said that a good adapted play is not a rigid copy of the original work, but a bold modification of the details and behaviors in line with the spiritual core of the original work, and what is presented to the audience is in line with the original work. Spiritual works suitable for film expression.
