The naysayer -
an awkward acronym for book fans and movie fans alike
In the Harry Potter series, "Order of the Phoenix" was originally the most successful one written aside from the finale. Because, this is arguably the strongest turning point in the entire series, and the distrust Harry has to overcome and form the DA army is the Nirvana version of the growing experience. The content of this work is a link between the previous and the next, there are many characters on the stage, events emerge in an endless stream, and the characters are portrayed with great spirit.
However, the film version of "Order of the Phoenix" is the one that disappointed me the most in the entire series. Because the strengths of the book are almost not photographed.
I won't say how much the appearance of the main characters changes with age, but only focus on the plot and character characterization.
In terms of the script, although most of the scenes and events in the original work are included, due to the 2-hour film length, most of the characters that should appear appeared, and those suspenseful blacks plagued Harry's doubts. The answer is often just a sentence or two in a hurry - in fact, it is not entirely a problem of the script, it is entirely because "Order of the Phoenix" has too many psychological suspense descriptions, which is inherently difficult to explain in visual language.
However, the "Harry Potter" series has basically ended the characteristics of children's literature since "The Goblet of Fire". After that, the development space has largely turned to suspense and puzzle solving, and the category of life growth. Know who is who, what is the function of this passage in the whole book, what is its meaning, and what kind of foreshadowing it will play on the future development, but readers who have not read the book will be at a loss. Besides, there is no After the World Cup at Hogwarts, there is no flying battle between the four academies. It can be said that it is a great regret for children's movie fans.
The final battle at the Ministry of Magic switched quickly and chaotically, only to see the wand shaking and beams flying all over the sky, which was really boring.
When I was in the theater, I probably made two audiences who hadn’t read the original work, and who probably forgot the plots of the first few films, seemed to find it very boring and boring—it’s hard to agree with them.
Although the screenwriter put the plot and characters on the outline, but forgot this method, 2 hours is far from enough, since it is used, it is necessary to take the corresponding responsibility, and it must be explained clearly, but in the director's remarks, the complexity is simplified. After that, it often takes dozens of seconds to explain the plot of the whole book and it takes dozens of pages to write clearly, and the whole play is connected, and it becomes very face-to-face and catalog-type.
Sirius's old house in Grimmauld Place is a very important new place in the book. Was it originally called "Order of the Phoenix"? Died, Harry "saw" Wesley was attacked and rushed to Hogwarts to ambiguous words - this paragraph was also changed, Sirius Black's family background was mentioned, Snape Memories of the past - this is an important plot that affects the finale of the book - becomes a messy pile of screen transitions.
Others such as Umulich's torture of Harry, the process of the formation of the DA army, Harry's sense of loneliness and rebelliousness due to being suspected by everyone, the love between Harry and Qiu Zhang, Ginny's character, Ron and Hermione's emotions, some tasted, some didn't even have time to unfold.
It is very strange that the longest and most informative film so far except for the finale is only 2 hours and 18 minutes. The previous "Prisoner of Aztaban" and "Goblet of Fire" seem to have more than this length.
This film, if you haven't read the original book, will be very confusing, and it also lacks the visual impact of the previous films.
Of course, those who have read the original will be very dissatisfied. Although there is a skeleton of the original, there is no feeling of breathlessness in the original, and it looks dull and sleepy.
In terms of roles, I like the casting of Luna Wogowood the most.
It's more beautiful and aura than I imagined, but it doesn't have the crazy taste of the original book.
It's just that since there is Luna, why hasn't it been mentioned that they dared to stand up to the "The Quibbler" defending Harry by the Daily Prophet
.
David Yates, a cutting-edge director, is said to be directing the next "The Betrayal of the Half-Blood Prince". If it is performed in this way, it is estimated that it will be difficult to make people optimistic.
I feel that instead of performing this way, Order of the Phoenix might as well lengthen the film and delete some bridges that have little impact on the subsequent plot, but the key plot and the psychology of the characters should be highlighted and explained clearly.
After all, when everyone walks into the theater and sees a movie at the same price as the original, it’s not just to see how tall and strong the characters in the book have grown recently. What movie fans want, after all, is a good story itself.
