I have watched the movie "La La Land" for a while. When the movie was just set to be released in the mainland, there happened to be shared resources on the Internet. Because I couldn't help it, I watched it accidentally.
I like this movie very much, the charming music, romantic feelings, not so precise but still pleasing dance, and the cinephile feeling full of tribute and reference everywhere, I also think it is quite interesting.
The film tells the story of a girl with an actor's dream and a boy with revitalizing nostalgic jazz. They met in a small time, encouraged each other with each other's dreams, then fell in love with each other, and finally separated. I like the expression of love in the film "La La Land". On the one hand, there are many classic scenes and scenes in love movies, dancing under the street lights, and reckless kisses. On the other hand, the two characters are both It is an individual with full of individual independent thoughts and dreams, love is in them, not you have me I have you, you try to change me, I try to change you, but you are you, I am me, we have come together , but in the end we found our place and lost each other, but we knew that our love was real.
Some people say that the love expressed in "La La Land" is that sometimes, love will give way to dreams, which is the failure of love. Yes, great romance films always tell us that love can conquer everything, that it can transcend life and death, and even transcend species. But in fact, life is full of regrets, and life is what is missing.
In my opinion, in the movie, the final separation of Sebastian played by High Commander and Mia played by Sister Stone is not at all surprising, or even doomed. Because their dreams are the opposite. Sebastian, who has been reduced to a restaurant playing Christmas songs, dreams of reviving the tradition of jazz. Friends say he is paranoid, his sister complains that he has made a mess of his life, but he says suffering It is also his own pursuit. Like a real artist, he doesn't care about the opinions of others, and only wants to live for his own niche music and ridiculous ideals. And Mia, who succumbed to being a waiter in a cafe, firmly believed that she could become an actress. She was eager to applaud and be recognized. She envied and hoped that she could become a real movie star. In the movie, they tried to change for each other, Sebastian was doing pop music like a "clown", endless tour city by city; Mia tried to write her own script, tried to not care The opinions of others, acting alone in a stage play that no one watched, was ridiculed. They each lost themselves, and finally they returned to the route, and finally went to their own world.
When I watched this film, there were three passages that left a deep impression on me.
The first was a night after the two fell in love. Sebastian, who was busy on tour, suddenly returned to his home in Los Angeles, wanting to surprise Mia. It was supposed to be a romantic dinner, but the two of them ended up with Sebastian. Tian's touring job quarrels, and the other two miss seeing each other because of the busy job and can't see the end. Sebastian believes that the reason why he accepted this job is entirely for Mia, to have a stable income and then a stable life. Mia, on the other hand, felt that she couldn't feel it, and thought that Sebastian was running against her dream. An angry Sebastian finally said something hurtful, maybe you just liked me when I was down, that would make you feel better.
This scene can almost be regarded as a turning point in the love between Sebastian and Mia. Both Sebastian and Mia hope that the other party can maintain themselves and cannot bear the sacrifices or changes the other party makes for themselves. When Mia was on the phone with her father, she inadvertently said that her impoverished boyfriend would soon have a stable job, but after Sebastian signed a contract for this, he was busy on tour and was loved by everyone, but Mia was not. Felt that Sebastian had lost himself.
In the same way, Mia, who is eager to achieve success in the secular sense, follows Sebastian's advice and does a one-man drama that no one cares about. She also does not feel happy at all. When the staff were ready to ridicule, Mia burst into tears and began to doubt that she had persisted in her dream of performing for many years.
This passage is like an identity swap between the two, Sebastian can't live the life that Mia desires, and Mia can't be self-sufficient like Sebastian. "The Lost Artist". Mia's happiness comes from external recognition, and Sebastian's happiness comes from her faithful heart. They are different people after all.
The second is that after Mia's movie audition passed, she was about to go abroad to film, and when she was about to embark on a completely different life, the two sat on the bench on the top of the mountain, and Mia asked, "Where are we now? ?" Sebastian said a place name, and Mia asked again, "I mean where did we go?" This almost indicates that the love relationship between the two has come to an end.
Yes, when every relationship reaches a certain tipping point, we all need a point of mutual agreement, either to move on, or to leave it alone. Obviously, at that moment, they already knew that they were not the same kind of people, and Sebasti installed a silly answer, one side was unbearable, and the other side was reluctance.
But love is like this, it doesn't make sense when it comes, and it doesn't make sense when it leaves.
The third place is the end of the movie. Five years later, Mia, who finally became a movie star, returned to her hometown. She had her own husband and children, her makeup became more delicate, and her steps became more elegant. When he came to the jazz club that Sebastian finally opened, she saw him and he sent her a song "Epilogue".
In the charming music, there are beautiful reverie like slideshows in each other's minds, just like us in another parallel time and space, these ten minutes of pictures are full of countless regrettable if, if we repeat again. When we meet for the first time, we will kiss without saying a word; if you perform a one-man drama again, there will be no empty seats, and I will be there to cheer for you; if we can do it all over again, we will eventually find the balance between dreams and love Come on, we won't have so many so-called awkward weights; I'll have my dream jazz club, and you'll be a real actor, we'll dance, we'll sing, we won't argue, there's no such thing as this Peter's choice and being chosen. We will come together and we will have families and our children.
If anything could happen like this, it's me holding your hand and walking into this jazz club today.
Love is like this, there may not be so many lasting loves like Jin Jian, those are more like bubbles and dreams, more love can't escape a certain critical point, stop at a certain moment, and the memories are more beautiful.
Lin Youjia once sang in a song: We used to love each other, and I feel sad when I think of it. But I don't think so. Most of the love I think is that we have loved each other. Even if it is full of regrets, it is not sad. This feeling is like the last smile between Sebastian and Mia in "La La Land".
