British director, producer. He has a strong personal relationship with Guy Ritchie, and is the producer of Ritchie's works "Two Smoking Guns", "Sneak Robbery", and "The Great Enemy of the Catastrophe". He was also the best man at Guy Ritchie's wedding to Madonna. Director works include "layer cake", "stardust" and "King Bian Wang".
Born in London, England to actress Kathy Ceaton and father George Albert Harley Drummond. After high school Vaughan made a tour and came to Los Angeles, where he started working as an assistant director. He then returned to London to study anthropology and ancient history at University College London. But the movies were fascinating to him, and after a few weeks in college, he returned to Los Angeles to restart his film career. But he soon realised that people were trying to do the same thing, so he went back to the UK, changed his name, and at the age of 25 he was the producer of a small thriller, The Innocent Sleep (1995), which Starring Annabella Sciorra and Michael Gambon.
Vaughan went on to serve as a producer, and close friend Guy Ritchie's "Two Smoking Guns" was a hit, and both made a fortune. After that, he also served as the producer of "Snatch and Robbery" and "The Cataclysm".
In 2004, Vaughan released his directorial debut "Layer Cake", which received rave reviews and won him the directorship of "X-Men: The Last Stand", but Vaughan gave up the opportunity two weeks before the film started. After Brett Ratner took the director's chair, Vaughan was quite disgusted with the final film.
Vaughn went on to direct "Stardust" (2007) and "Kick-off" (2010), and he was a candidate for director of "Thor", but finally gave up. In May 2010, 20th Century Fox announced that X-Men: Elementary would be directed by Vaughn.
Vaughan's wife is German supermodel Claudia Schiffer, and the two married in 2002 and have a son and a daughter.
