closing one's loop

In reality, it's probably a four star movie. At least the chinese version should be given four star. Bruce willis' romantic encounter with the chinese lady stuck out oddly in an otherwise great movie. Some didn't like the TK thing and felt that it had become overly sci fi akin the fifth element, but I thought the TK revelation was quite a perfect fit, especially when the kid's real identity and power was revealed.

The international version, I heard, tried to explain the protagonist's childhood, which might make a big sense in how he saw the kid and the kid's mother. This was cut in the Chinese version.

Alot of playing nice with the Chinese viewer, when the looper handed in the kill, the stack of money was Chinese Yuan. The "you should go to china" line was nice done. The only unrealistic chinese element, apart from bruce willis' romance , is the newsreporter's slightly americanized Chinese. Also, you wouldn't miss out 360buy's advertising.

Overall, it's hardly a action movie. Moving towards the genre of shutter island with some the fifth element spice.
