The "eight years later" clearly marked in the subtitles in the main film indicates that the story of this film is very likely to take place beyond the current MCU universe time. In 2020, the main line of the MCU is very likely to expand in a new direction during the artificially created gap of several years, and even the follow-up Spider-Man series may be a story that happened before this story.
