multiple conflicts

It was the opening of the "Star Trek" franchise, which successfully created a hero like James. Probably because there have been this series of TV series before, which seem to be connected by many small stories. From the very beginning, they had a setting that spanned time and space, and later they showed the plump science fiction world as expected.

Conflict 1: Nero returns from the future for revenge. Conflict resolution: James' father dashes to the ship and perishes.

Conflict 2: James fights because of picking up girls. Conflict resolution: Captain Pike takes a fancy to him and inspires him to join the Space Troops.

Conflict 3: James madly said that he would pass the captain's test in three years. Paradox Resolution: Cheating.

Conflict 4: Cheating was heard. Paradoxical Resolution: Sudden Emergency Suspension of Hearing.

Conflict 5: James discovers the trap the emergency has set for Nero. Conflict resolution: James rushed to the front of Captain Pike to clarify the situation, and Captain Pike put on emergency alert.

Conflict 6: The ship was discovered by Nero, and Nero's drill was also discovered. Conflict resolution: Pike goes to negotiate with Nero, James and Sulu go to destroy the drill.

Conflict 7: Red matter is shot into Vulcan, and the entire planet is about to become a black hole. Conflict resolution: Spock rescues the race elders, James and Sulu are sent back to the battleship.

Conflict 8: Spock and James disagree on decision-making. Resolution of the contradiction: James was thrown on Vega, met the elderly Spock in a parallel time and space, and was inspired by him to return to the battleship as a captain, defeating Nero.

Conflict 9: The ship is sucked by a black hole. The resolution of contradictions: At the moment of crisis, James decided to use the shock wave of the nuclear bomb to fight to the death, and he finally experienced the fear.

Contradictions and conflicts are interlinked, scientifically based, reasonable, and hide a particularly broad universe setting. The special effects are powerful, and the aura of the protagonist is not so abrupt. The ending is not that the hero embraces the beauty, but the friendship is gained, which can be regarded as a relatively special arrangement.

Star Trek quotes

  • George Kirk: What are we gonna call him?

Winona Kirk: We could name him after your father.

George Kirk: Tiberius? You kidding me? No, that's the worst. Let's name him after your dad. Let's call him Jim.

Winona Kirk: Jim. OK, Jim it is.

George Kirk: Sweetheart, can you hear me?

    Winona Kirk: I hear you.

George Kirk: I love you so much. I love you...

  • Leonard 'Bones' McCoy: Permission to speak freely, sir?

    Spock: I welcome it.

Leonard 'Bones' McCoy: Do you? OK, then. Are you out of your Vulcan mind? Are you making a logical choice, sending Kirk away? Probably. But, the right one? You know, back home we have a saying: "If you're gonna ride in the Kentucky Derby, you don't leave your prize stallion in the stable."

Spock: A curious metaphor, doctor, as a stallion must first be broken before it can reach its potential.

Leonard 'Bones' McCoy: My God, man, you could at least ACT like it was a hard decision.

Spock: I intend to assist in the effort to reestablish communication with Starfleet. However, if crew morale is better served by my roaming the halls weeping, I will gladly defer to your medical expertise. Excuse me.

Leonard 'Bones' McCoy: [as Spock leaves] Green-blooded hobgoblin.
