Argo - 8/10

Yet another self-directed, self-directed American film, Ben Affleck has once again proved himself as a director of storytelling, and like The Town, the narrative is fluid and the plot is gripping.

Since this film comes from a real historical event, the difficulty of shooting this film is naturally higher than that of Xiaoben's upper works. How can we objectively reproduce history and give the film its own style and temperament without being biased or exaggerated? Ben Affleck almost perfectly handed in the answer sheet. In the reproduction of the real picture, look at the pictures at the end of the film. Being able to pay attention to the smallest details is a necessary condition for a good director to succeed. Narratively, even if you can guess the ending of the movie, you will sweat the whole process, and this is definitely a movie that makes you fidget. I really like these kinds of films based on real historical stories. It reminds me of The Last King of Scotland. In comparison, this film is better.

In the cast, in addition to Xiaoben's own law-abiding performance, the most exciting are the two old guys Alan Arkin and John Goodman. Every time the two of them appear, they are full of joy, just like the phrase "Argo fuck yourself", these two old actors never get tired of watching.

Argo, a typical Hollywood heroic film, rigorously reproduces historical events, Xiaoben is really amazing as a director!

Argo’s success does not lie in the film adaptation of classic cases, nor does it lie in bravely provoking the traditionally sensitive political issues of the United States and Middle East countries, nor does it lie in advocating to the world a heroic feat of friendly cooperation between governments to rescue hostages. Argo is the most worthwhile. The praise is that it cleverly sets a boring political subject with a very documentary theme into suspense and crisis, turning the audience into a tightrope walker and worrying about falling to the ground at any time.

It is true that American movies cannot escape the fate of tools. They are used to convey values in normal times and to rescue hostages in extraordinary times.

  • Tony Mendez: Mike, if I were to say you were looking through the wrong end of that viewfinder, would I be right?

[Lee casually turns the viewfinder around]

    Lee Schatz: Yup.

  • Ken Taylor: [meeting Tony] I was expecting more of a G-man look.

Tony Mendez: I think you're thinking of the FBI, sir.
